SANDY RATLIFF 1893-1960 Retired Miner, Dies February 7 1960 Sandy Ratliff, 67, former resident of this city, died at his home in Catlettsburg at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, February 7, 1960, following a year’s illness. The son of Allen and Mary Collins Ratliff, he was born in this county June 26, 1893, and had made his home in Catlettsburg for the past three years. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a miner. His wife, Mrs. Lula Trusty Ratliff, whom he married Monday, January 13, 1913, survives. Also surviving are two sons, Carl Ratliff, Spartanburg, S. C.; Levi Ratliff, Paintsville; one daughter, Lucille Ratliff, Catlettsburg; one sister, Mrs. Rollie Ratliff, Rockhouse; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 9, 1960, at 2:00 p.m., from the First Church of God in this city with Thomas Reynolds as officiating minister. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park.
