Below: SMOKE BREAK: Louise Frame, a Salisbury Lever Bros sales rep in real life,

moonlights in cammy gear as a 'tough girl' model for a vodka ad. The company

turned down the finished colour pics saying they liked Louise but not the

military theme. Only then did the genius photographer realise the

vodka was a Russian product, as was, of course, many of the landmines and

weapons used by the Patriotic Front. Anyway, here's Louise on a

smoke break during shooting back in 1976 on the Higham farm at Glendale.

What's not to like? Louise was last heard of back in her home town, Deal, an

English Channel port in Kent. Hope she's well and happy.

Above: STICK 'EM UP: A pistol-packing South African

stripper aims to tease at Salisbury's La Boheme back

in 1977, followed by an English husband and wife

singing act. Despite overseas rumours of shock, horror

in Rhodesia's capital, many international performers

braved the 'war-zone' to entertain beleaguered

Rhodies and invariably left with a

more balanced image of life

in Rhodesia.
