DVD Profiler Portable is a utility that allows you to move your existing DVD Profiler installation to a removable drive as for example a USB memory stick.
Open the DVD Profiler Portable Installer
(file MakeDVDProfilerPortable.exe) to move DVD Profiler
to your removable drive. This installer will guide you through the
process of making your DVD database portable.
Before you can create DVD Profiler Portable on your removable drive, DVD Profiler has to be installed and configured on your hard drive including the DVD database(s).

What features of DVD Profiler are supported when installed
on the USB stick withDVD Profiler Portable?
Most features of DVD Profiler should work fine even when started
from your USB stick. The only thing that I'm aware of is that plugins are
not supported at all. Therefore I recommend that you turn off your plugins
before (or after) installing DVD Profiler Portable.
How do I install DVD Profiler Portable on my USB stick?
Install and configure DVD Profiler the normal way on your hard disk
and setup your database at the default location (in your My Documents
folder). Then plug in your USB stick with enough free space and start
MakeDVDProfilerPortable.exe. Select the installation directory
on your USB stick (typically named
G:\PortableApps\DVDProfilerPortable if G is the
drive letter of your memory stick) and start the installation. All the
installation options should be selected.
How do I run DVD Profiler Portable from my USB stick?
Open the file DVDProfilerPortable.exe.
Or if you have installed the
PortableApps.com Suite,
you can start it from the PortableApps Menu.
Can I integrate DVD Profiler Portable in my U3 system?
I have no experience with U3 but you may have a look at
Shortcut Creator 4U3.
Is it safe to just remove my USB stick from the computer when I'm
finished working with DVD Profiler Portable
Absolutely not! Always exit DVD Profiler and wait for the
busy light to stop blinking and then use the toolbar menu to safely dismount
your USB stick before you pull the plug.
Is DVD Profiler Portable truly portable?
No! A real portable application should be self contained and no installation
programm should be needed. If you move your DVD Profiler Portable
folder around in the directory structure, it will not work anymore.
But there is no problem if your memory stick will be assigned a different
drive letter on different computers.
How can I update DVD Profiler Portable?
You can update any component of DVD Profiler Portable individually
by running the installer and selecting only the component option which should
be updated. So, if you get a DVD Profiler update, install it on
your computer and rerun the installation wizard with just the
Program Files option selected. If the changes to
DVD Profiler are not too large, the updated
DVD Profiler Portable should still work.
Because an update may break DVD Profiler Portable, you should backup at
least your database before updating.
