The hourglass
I saw it there
Floating, as if in a vast sea
Silent and somber
Contained within its silver sides
Was Time
They see us
The Watchers there
Slipping out of Time at night
The Wanderers, Dreamers and those of Flight
When sleepers stay
Worlds so bare
Of light and life
They are free from Time
Separate and bright
As though we live in shades of gray
We cannot shatter the silver hourglass
We can only live it while we stay.
Notes: About this Poem:
Yup, I was eleven when I wrote it, so it was...preeeetty horrible. I've changed a bit around, the meter's better now. The theme of the contest, by the way, was "Time," if you haven't guessed.
