SMOOTHIES
These are variations on a theme. They are also healthful alternatives to ice cream and also make a nice quick breakfast drink.
Basic Smoothie:
1/2 cup crushed ice
1-1/2 cups vanilla or plain soy milk drink (yogurt may be used instead)
1 tablespoon honey
Blend all in blender until smooth.
Now, here is where the fun comes in -- add whatever fruit suits you. some suggestions are:
Bananas
Blueberries
Strawberries
Watermelon
Peaches
Oranges
Well,you get the idea. :o)
You can also add 1 to 2 tablespoons of wheat germ or ground *lsa or a non-flavored protein powder for a delicious meal replacement or supplement.
* lsa is linseed, sunflower seeds and almonds, mixed together. You can get it at the health food store.
