Quick rundown of the week and its end... Mom and Sean drove up to NY Thursday night to visit.  They came to my work on Friday and I gave them the tour.  Then we went out to lunch, and when we came back a rally was forming outside of the Administration Building.  We had a bird's eye view from my window, so they watched the rally/protest while I worked.  After work we met up with Joe and played pool at Juliet's for a couple hours.  Eventually we went to a late dinner at Ruby Tuesdays and after dropping Joe back at his house, I took my fam. back to my place and then went on to work.  Obviously the last place I wanted to be, but I had no choice.  Sat. we hung around the apt. and Mom helped me with some projects that I'd been needing to get done for awhile.  We eventually went shopping at Walmart, Home Depot, and Target to pick up some more home improvement type stuff.  We relaxed for a little bit and then I went off to work again.  While I was gone, my mom did more handy woman stuff.  It was really sweet that she did those things for me and I'm so grateful for her help.  I had a sinus headache really bad at work, so I ended up turning off the lights in the office and turning down the tv really low so that I wouldn't be in so much pain.  7:30am couldn't come soon enough.  Sunday we went out to lunch at the Otter as kind of a pre-Mother's Day lunch.  Mom and Sean left around 3:30pm and shortly after I fell asleep.  I ended up missing mass with Joe because I slept straight through, but I really needed the sleep.  Yesterday I did really good about eating well and exercising, and so far today I've eaten well.  Hopefully I can keep up the exercising.  I'm taking one day at a time and trying to keep at it... the thing that is so frustrating is that even if I keep at this every day, it'll still take 4 months before I start seeing any serious results.  How stinky is that?  *sigh* Oh well, in the long run it'll be good for me.  Well, almost time to head home... yay!

Ciao!

Starting with the most important news... for anyone who knows Nick Beech from Old Mill High School c/o '98:
Nick has been in Iraq for about 4 months now, this is his 2nd tour there, and he's getting ready to go "elsewhere" (he can't say where exactly) for some time (he can't say for how long) and he won't have any connection to the outside world via telephone or email.  But his email address is [email protected] and I know he would love to have mail waiting for him when he gets back.  If you believe in God and prayer, then say a prayer for his safety.

Yesterday I took a mental health day from work, and I'm so glad that I did.  Joe had to work extra today, so he decided to take a mental health day yesterday too.  We had a really great time together, and we both needed some time to just relax and not be stressed out and worried about stuff.  We had lunch together at a local New Paltz deli, then we went bowling just for the fun of it (and Joe wanted to try out his recently drilled ball), then we went over to the mall to see a movie, but ended up not seeing one because there wasn't anything that we really interesting enough to spend $8.  I picked up season 5 of
Sex and the City and after walking around a bit, we decided to head back to the townhouse and work on a Dick Tracy puzzle.  We also watched the new episode of Family Guy that isn't airing until Sunday.  Eventually we got dinner with a couple of the guys and then came back to play some poker.  It was dealer's choice, which I don't really like playing, so I designated myself as the chips and money manager.  It worked out pretty well.  I'm going to have to remember that perhaps as often as once a semester, I need to take a mental health day and just do whatever I want to do, without any guilt because I know I've earned it.  And all the "problems" were still here waiting for me when I came back this morning. ;)

Well, that's about it for now... I'm waiting for Bill to come in around 11am or so.  Apparently we had a huge problem with one of the DJs using inappropriate language during his 1-3am show, so Bill was up dealing with that and therefore didn't get much sleep last night.  As soon as Elkyn comes in at noon, we'll have to decide on an appropriate punishment, especially since this guy is a senior and knows better, but consistently refuses to follow rules.  And we've all lost our patience with him.  I also need to have a sit-down with a TV student about his inappropriate use of TV equipment and resources for his own personal use.  And that's a shame because he's a really good, hard working student that just made a series of stupid choices.  And often times, that's what it all boils down to... dealing with students when they are smart, but choose to make stupid decisions.

Ciao!

Hmmm... maybe I should have used this color scheme for St. Patty's Day... oh well.  This past week has been really good, and today is shaping up to be a nice day too.  The weather was absolutely amazing last week, a much needed reprieve from what it's been for 7 months now.  Unfortunately it rained and got cold again this weekend.  I went out for food and drinks with the work crew on Wednesday, and that was a lot of fun.  It's been a couple weeks since we all hung out, so it was good.  Then on Thursday, Bill, Brian, Elkyn, and I saw
Sahara at the local theater, and I highly recommend it.  It was a good movie... great action scenes for the guys, and Matthew McConaughey for the ladies.  I wasn't disappointed. ;) And it was also funny too, and I'm always up for a movie that makes me laugh.

Joe's house hunting has been indefinitely suspended.  He's looking around at places to rent in the area, but it's still up in the air... enough said.

Mom and Sean are driving up this weekend to visit.  I'm really excited about them coming, especially since my brother hasn't seen my place yet, and Mom hasn't been up since she helped me move in.  Unfortunately, I have to work still, but they know that and they still wanted to come, so bring it on.  They'll also get to meet Bill, but probably not Elkyn because he's taking Friday off.  I'm going to look into taking them up to Mohonk Mountain House because I've heard it's really beautiful up there.  It depends on the weather though.  And Sean and I are thinking about taking a little "road trip" over to Orange Co. Choppers and finally checking them out.  It should be lots of fun.

So I have a list of things to do in preparation of their arrival.  This week will be another relatively busy one.  TV E-Board elections are supposed to be tonight, we'll see how that goes.  I'm not feeling too optimistic about it though, because the candidates' letters of intent were due last Thursday, and as of right now we're missing about 6 of them.  I ask you, how the hell do these guys expect to survive after college if they can't even turn in a superficial letter on time?!?! *sigh* Breath deep and it'll go away soon... summer is almost here.

And last (but certainly not least) for anyone who cares... my love life is at one of its all time best's.  Why?  Just because...

Ciao :)
