Yay for Thursdays!  It means Friday is only one more day away!!  I was sick yesterday with a sinus headache turned migraine, so I opted to stay home and sleep instead of battling both the pain and the torment of clearing the ice off my car.  Stacy put together an entire puzzle in one day.  Craziness... yes, she lives her life obsessively. ;) Anyways, we've been having lots of fun!  Lots of girly stuff (btw - Joe is the best boyfriend in the world because he puts up with our girliness) like shopping, watching chick flicks, talking about boys/relationships/etc., trying to watch the entire first season of Sex and the City, getting hooked on Project Runway and Queer Eye for the Straight Girl... and all the while I'm trying to give Stacy some level footing with which to anchor her thoughts and feelings about her relationship with Sean as they're going through a very difficult time right now.  Hopefully we'll go clubbing either tonight or tomorrow, and we're definitely going to the city on Saturday!  (Unless we get a couple feet of snow in the meantime *knock on wood*)  Last Saturday, Joe reformatted my computer for me and I'm soooooo happy!  I love having a computer that runs at a normal speed and doesn't have a virus on it.  Woohoo!  Plus, I'm using the spare hard drive that my brother gave me instead of the hard drive that came with the computer because the one that Sean gave me has more space.  I'm hoping to be able to utilize my computer in a more useful, effeciant manner.  *fingers crossed*  Work is still pretty boring, and I feel myself getting into a rut.  A couple things here and there are starting to pick up, so now I just have to motivate myself to jump start my work day again.  It won't freaking stop snowing!  I really don't mind the snow, except when the roads aren't plowed and SUNY won't close school so I still have to dig my car out, drive to work, and pray I don't get into an accident on the way there.  Then lather, rinse, repeat when it's time to go home.  I think I bring a lot of amusement to Elkyn when he sees me all bundled up and trying to deal with the weather.  Once again, they think that I've never seen snow before.  Anyways, it's getting close to that time of day when I get to go home... so until next time...

Ciao!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!  Lots to tell so let's begin...

Barbara came to visit me in NY for the week before Christmas and that was so totally awesome!  She arrived on Friday and the very next day we went to the city and stayed all day.  We went shopping (3 floor H&M and 2 floor Victoria's Secret!!!), ate, people watched, shopped some more, and caught a show (Movin' Out - all Billy Joel songs!!)  We were smart and didn't get stuck on the drunk train, and finally got back to my apt. around 1am.  And that was just the first day!  Throughout the week we rearranged my living room, saw Ocean's Twelve (I finally saw Ocean's Eleven), ate lots of food, drank lots of shmirnof mandarin, mike's hard, killian's, guiness, white zinfandel, pinot grigio, and some other crazy red/blue/purple stuff with too much vodka in it, Barbara saw snow for the first time this season (I think it's #4 for me), Joe almost got into a car accident because of the snow, I did get in a car accident because of the snow, I vowed that I was getting a new car asap and moving to Florida (*note: I don't have a new car yet and I still live in NY), Barbara and I went to the local diner and ran into Brian and Dave from College Activities, Joe stayed at my apt. and kept us very well entertained, the 3 of us frequently got into pillow fights, Joe received a job offer from IBM!!!!!! (I think I was more excited and giddy than he was), we all celebrated Christmas together on Christmas Eve Eve Eve (aka-Wednesday) and then Barbara left Thursday afternoon. :( That part was sad.  But we had so much fun together, I can't wait to do it all again.

Joe and I celebrated Christmas together on Christmas Eve Eve and it was wonderful.  He put a lot of thought into picking out my presents and it showed how much he knows me and cares about me.  It was a wonderful time... (for those of you with queasy stomachs, I won't continue with the sappiness).  I love Joe and he knows it!  Friday morning, I hit the road early, my car was packed to its maximum capacity, and I drove to MD.  I stopped at Circuit City to pick up my mom's Christmas gift from my brother and I (that was insane, what was I thinking?!) and then headed "home" amidst the flurry of wrapping and cooking.

My time in MD was fantastic!  Christmas was really special this year, probably because I had a new appreciation for spending time with family and friends.  I saw my mom, brother, grandmother, and uncle; I visited Jessica, Jeff, Kenda, Virgil, and the precious new baby Julia (
click here for announcement), I visited James, Barbara, Megan, Paul, and Paul's parents Ken and Gail; and I ran into Harry Landis from Faith Community Church while I was out running errands one day.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see a lot of people from FCC because on Christmas Day one of the pipes broke and flooded the whole interior of the classrooms and offices portion of the church.  This event caused Sunday services to be cancelled the day after Christmas.  In the room where the pipe burst, the ceiling literally collapsed.  It was really awful.  But luckily the church has insurance to cover these kinds of things.  Megan had her graduation party which was very nice.  It was great to be a part of recognizing her and all of her hard work and accomplishments, and I know she was embarassed because she cried a little, but it was the good kind of crying that moves us all to amazing happiness for her.  I'm very glad that I was part of that.

My time in MD seemed to end way too soon though, and before I realized it, I was driving back to my apt. in NY on New Year's Eve.  Once again, as is true for every time I leave MD, I was sad to be going away.  But as I walked into my apt., I realized how comfortable and happy I am there.  Joe met me in NY and after taking a short nap (we both knew it was going to be a long night), we grabbed some food and hit the road for Boston where Ed and Narine were hosting a New Year's Eve party.  It was a lot of fun, the food was... ummm... interesting, and I broke my rule of never mixing drinks.  Mixing leaves for a longer recovery time the next day.  So needless to say, Joe and I had tons of fun on New Year's Eve, and spent almost all of the first day of 2005 recovering from all our fun.  Unfortunately, oily and spicy Armenian food doesn't do so well in the stomach after a night full of drinking.  So eventually, in the evening, after we felt not so queasy and a little more hungry, we decided to hit the road back to NY for some "normal" food and a good night's sleep.  Sunday, the last day of my vacation, was a really great day.  Joe and I spent the whole day together, working on the apt. (Joe was so much help it was unbelievable) and just relaxing the day away for ourselves.

Now I'm back to work and it's so incredibly boring.  I know once April comes I'll be begging for this kind of uneventfulness, but if there's nothing to do, I'd much rather be lazy in the comfort of my own apt., stretched out on my couch than sitting in my office, in front of my computer.  Stacy's coming tomorrow to visit until the 17th so that should be lots of fun and spice up the rest of the winter break.  Joe's taking an excelerated winter course (Monday - Friday, 1 - 4:45pm, for 2 weeks) to help alleviate some of the necessary course work in the spring.  He kinda hates it now, but he'll be grateful soon.  It snowed a little bit today, but I heard there's possibly more coming tonight.  I'm so not surprised.  Just as long as they close school, I'm happy.  Just don't make me drive in a foot of snow... I'd much rather enjoy it from my warm, comfy couch.

Ok, that's all for now...

Ciao!
