Ok, this is sad... I've only had my website up and running for 1 month and I'm already slacking on updating my journal.  I adamently apologize to everyone that I bug about updating theirs... I never knew how time consuming it was.  So work @ the bookstore is going well, or at least the paychecks make it worth my time.  Speaking of which, yesterday was payday!!  The class that I'm taking on Tuesday nights is also going really well.  I'm learning a lot and it's feeding my geeky history tendencies (sorry Megan).  I went on a trip this past weekend, and it was definitely needed and well worth the 5 hour drive.  If you'd like to know more about it, just ask me.  I'm currently still waiting on the substitute teaching job, hoping that I'll get hired soon.  I'm repairing the damage that was wrecked by the AA co Board of Education losing my transcript (lazy people).  Goodness, no wonder public education is in such a shambles.  I'm convinced that everyone thinks that someone else is getting the job done, when in all actuality no one is doing anything.  Ugh!  And the latest on the grad school endeavor, I'm taking the GRE's on Wed. 3/3/2004 and I completely floored my undergrad advisor when I said that I wanted to come back to school in Sept. 2004.  He wants to meet with me asap (uh-oh).  So cross your fingers and say a little prayer for me.  Oh, and a couple "greatest hits" from the past 3 weeks... on Tues. 2/17/04, I gave my German presentation (in English this time) to my former professor's humanities class.  That was quite the experience, but in a good yet nervous way.  The on Wed. 2/18, I was invited to a lecture followed by a small, exclusive dinner with select leading scholars... life is good!!  oh yeah!!

So it's official!!  I picked up my diploma today from UMBC and I'm legitimately a college graduate!!  Now it's time to "show me the money" (at least for the next 9 months until hopefully I'll be going back to school).  Today I have the unfortunate unpleasantry of going to work... and tomorrow, and Friday, and Saturday... ugh.  But hopefully I'll get a paycheck soon, those are always good.  I can't believe I've been up since 7:30am, and this is coming from the person who will sleep until noon if possible.  But alas, I was indebted to the service of chauffeuring my brother to school to make up his English exam.  I'm sure I will have to take a nap before going to work @ 3pm, or else I will be falling asleep there.  I'd just like to throw out a special thank you to a very good friend, who surprisingly called me out of the blue today when I really needed to be cheered up.  Thank you darlin', I love you, you're the greatest.  BTW, I have pictures of graduation and the celebration lunch afterwards if anyone would like copies of selected photos.  Just contact me via email or phone if you're interested in perusing... did you know the word "via" comes from the Latin, meaning "way" and... oh nevermind.  Ok, enough of my thoughts... Aufwiedersehen Liebchens!!!

So I'm really not a sports fanatic, but you wouldn't know that by listening to me yell at the tv when the Carolina Panthers just lost the superbowl.  But I have to admit, it was a good game and both the Panthers and the Patriots played real well.  Yesterday was my mom's birthday, and we celebrated today by going to dunch/linner at the Outback Steakhouse.  She's 45 years old now (shhh... don't tell her I told).  I rearranged the furniture in my bedroom last night and now everything is arranged the way I want it.  Now I get to take everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) out of my bedroom and start patching holes and painting.  Yes, I'm such a big dork.  But when I'm finished, in like 6 months (ugh), it will be beautiful.  Tomorrow I get to go to UMBC and pick up my diploma!!  It'll all be official then, I'll have the document in hand and it will all be godd!!  Ok, enough of my ramblings, life is good.  :)
