| -562 MR to -524 MR | Arlen IV | Close advisor to Emperor Caelen I. Accompanied the Emperor on his expedition to Vosgaard and was rewarded with the Ducal (later Princely) Scepter of Office which remains in the hands of House Avan to this day. |
| -524 MR to -501 MR | Jaime III | Remembers as a fair and benevolent ruler. Period of great prosperity in Avanil. |
| -501 MR to -497 MR | None | War of the Eagles. The two sons of Jaime III, Lord Balon and Lord Teried, fight for control of the Duchy after Jaime leaved them each half the realm. The Emperor Alanadae VIII, beset by a major rebellion in Brechtur is powerless to stop them. After four years of fighting Teried defeats his brother at the Battle of Ten Thousand Wails and claims the Obsidian Throne. |

| -256 MR to - 244 MR | Aedan III | Vain Duke who spent all of his time overseeing the construction Avanston, his winter palace in Vanilen. The palace is enormous, takes 10 years to build and very nearly bankrupts the treasury. However the palace remains the winter retreat of the regents of Avanil. |
| -244 MR to - 213 MR | Viserys II | Close friend of Emperor Caercuillen III and so spent most of his time in the Imperial City. Largely neglected Avanil. |
| -213 MR to -192 MR | Aerys VII | Known as a fair and just Duke who to an avid interest in guild activities. Resulted in a merchantile golden age for Avanil. |
| -192 MR to -161 MR | Aerys VIII | Followed in his fathers footsteps creating the first ducal guild, the Ducal Charter. this guild would later fade away under less enlightened Dukes. |
| -161 MR to -129 MR | Arlen V "the Navigator" | Arlen V saw the advantages in Avanil possessing a great navy and so expanded the size of the ducal fleet. He also sponsored a great deal of exploration for new lands to be claims in the name of the Emperor. |
| -129 MR to -111 MR | Traegan II | Achieved little of significance. Killed when he was thrown from his horse whilst traveling to Anuire. |
| -111 MR to -103 MR | Traegon III | Largely forgotten Duke. |
| -103 MR to -94 MR | Caellwyn I | Creator of the Ducal Theatre of Daulton. Great patron of the arts. |
| -94 MR to -63 MR | Caellwyn II | Great warrior. Fought in the campaigns against the Rjurik rebels on behalf of Emperor Hadrien I. |
| -63 MR to -25 MR | Kier I | Known to be a warrior of considerable skill Kier serves his Emperor faithfully in various campaigns. Also known to have fostered an illegitimate son whom he refused to recognise. |
| -25 MR to 14 MR | Kier II | Duke of Avanil during the
reign of Emperor Michael Roele. Served his Emperor faithfully during the
rebellion of Arwyn, Archduke of Boeruine and stood at his Emperors side
during the ill-fated campaign against the Gorgon that saw the Anurieans
defeated and the Emperor slain. During the chaos the followed the
Emperors death Kier arranged the marriage of son Arlen to Princess Erin
Roele, the Emperors younger sister. Thus young Arlen became Prince Arlen
and Avanil became an Imperial Principality.
With both Derwyn, Archduke of Boeruine and Arlen, Prince of Avanil having claims to the Iron Throne through their marriages to Princess' of House Roele the Empire was thrown into conflict with each scion vying to be the new Emperor. Thus began the long conflict between House Avan and House Boeruine. |
| 14 MR to 29 MR | Arlen VI | First Prince of Avanil. Spent much of his reign mustering support for his claim to the Iron Throne. Died in the Battle of Wilders Gorge fighting the forces of Derwyn of Boeruine. |
| 29 MR to 61 MR | Arlen VII | Proclaims the newly formed Western Imperial Temple of Haelyn as the state religion of Avanil. Continued the campaigns against Arwyn II of Boeruine with little gains made by either side. |
| 61 MR to 109 MR | Rhaegar I "the Diplomat" | Possibly the greatest statesman of House Avan. Rhaegar forged the first tentative peace with House Boeruine following the collapse of the Empire as well as securing an oath of fealty from Corwyn Taeghas, Duke of Taeghas. |
| 109 MR to 117 MR | Arlen VIII | Relatively ineffectual Prince who spent more time debauching than ruling his realm. During this time the Principality was effectively ruled by the Prince's Chancellor, Moergan, Count of Avarien. |
| 117 MR to 118 MR | Struggle Between Thrones | With the death of his father Rhaegar II assumed the throne of Avanil. The powerful Lord Moergan attempted to manipulate the young Prince to his own benefit but young Rhaegar was made of stronger mettle than his father and a power struggle between the two ensued. Rhaegar eventually triumphed with the aid of Lord Boeric, Count of Caulnor. Lord Moergan was captured and executed for treason. |
| 118 MR to 177 MR | Rhaegar II | After his early struggle to secure his throne, Rhaegar II ruled as a fair and benevolent Prince. The Principality was blessed with a long period of peace and prosperity. |
| 177 MR to 179 MR | Traegon IV | A sickly feeble man when he ascended the Obsidian Throne Traegon IV died just less than two years later. He was succeeded by his nephew Arlen IX. |
| 179 MR to 201 MR | Arlen IX | Prince Arlen IX is most renowned for his many wives. During his 22 year reign he was married 8 times (after each wife died mysteriously) and produced 27 legitimate children and countless illegitimate children. Not wishing to be seen to be a neglectful father created a series of new titles for his children form the vast holdings of the royal household. Many of these titles remain within the realm whilst others have long since ceased to exist. |
| 201 MR to 222 MR | Kier III | Brilliant military strategist who reformed the Avanese Military to create the 'New Army' model which remains until this day. Died from a mortal wound received whilst campaigning against the pirates of the Straights of Aerele in Mieres. |
| 222 MR to 263 MR | Rhaegar III | Completed his fathers campaign to claim the colony of Mieres for the House of Avan. Installed Daene Vaumel as its Governor. |
| 263 MR to 288 MR | Viserys III | Launched a futile attempt to slay Rhoubhe Manslayer against the advice of his High Council. Killed by Rhoubhe within site of Tower Ruannoch. |
| 288 MR to 289 MR | Viserys IV | Learning nothing from the mistakes of his father Viserys IV launched a second campaign against Rhoubhe immediately upon ascending the Obsidian Throne. Killed in battle like his father. |
| 289 MR to 309 MR | Aerys IX | Great orator who was much beloved by the common people of Avanil but despised by the peers of the realm for his excessive taxes upon their vast estates. Much internal unrest. Murdered by an unknown assailant. |
| 309 MR to 332 MR | Aerys X "the Oppressor" | The complete opposite of his father, Aerys X spent much of his reign crushing the will of the common people for his own amusement. Turbulent period of Avanil. |
| 332 MR to 377 MR | Viserys V | Viewed himself as the greatest general in Anuire but the reality was very different. Personally led the Avanese to no less than 13 major military defeats including the disastrous Battle of the Twin Rivers in which more than 9,500 Avanese soldiers were killed. Borders of the Principality contract as much of Taeghas is lost of Adaere of Boeruine. |
| 377 MR to 399 MR | Arlen X | Gifted ruler who knew the importance of delegating responsibilities to those best suited to the task. During his reign Lord Candaer, Viscount of Kraymoore, Lord Marshal of Avanil, succeeded in recapturing most of what had been lost during the reign of Viserys V. Also secured an oath of fealty from Boeric, Duke of Brosengae in return for certain trading rights with Avanil. |
| 399 MR to 436 MR | Traegon IV | Period of peace and prosperity during which time the population of Daulton increased considerably. To accommodate the newcomers ensure the defence of the city Traegon order an outer wals constructed around the 'new city' as it came to be known. These were completed in 432 MR. |
| 426 MR to 478 MR | Rhaegar IV | Established the Great Library of Daulton as a major repository of knowledge in 450 MR. Regrettably the Library was destroyed by a mysterious fire in 501 MR. |
| 475 MR to 479 MR | Kier IV | Killed in a hunting accident by a wild boar. |
| 479 MR to 502 MR | Arlen XI | Capable Prince who was respected through Anuiire as a skilled warrior. Held many tournaments in Daulton which for a time become the most important social event for many of the Empire leading figures. |
| 502 MR to 533 MR | Arlen XII | Skilled ruler of Avanil who, though a deft knowledge of administration and a flare for entrepreneurship succeeded in building up a treasury that was the envy of many in Anuire. |
| 533 MR to 553 MR | Darien I | Respected ruler who managed to expand upon his fathers efforts by increasing the wealth and power of House Avan within Anuire. Greatly increased the influence of House Avan within the Imperial City of Anuire. Murdered by rebel noblemen who were themselves slain. |
| 553 MR onwards | Rhaegar V "the Dragonheart" | Nephew of Prince Darien and the 69th ruler of Avanil since the founding of the Empire. |
