The Tractor

This is my CUB page. She is a 1950 Farmall Cub. According to the serial number, it was one of the last ones made in 1950. Attachments I have are: IH Danco C2 Rotary Mower, Cub-22 sickle mower, Cub 144 culivator, Cub 174 planter, fertilizer attachment for planter, Cub 28A disk harrow, Cub 193 moldboard plow, Cub 54 front/belly blade, and a pto belt drive assemble. Among the homemade implements are a front-end loader, 3PT hitch, and spike-tooth harrow

History

My grandfather had bought the tractor in 1951. My grandfather and his vocational AG class took care of the Cub for many yars. They rebuilt the engine in 62, as I still have the receipts! He died in the early 70's. After it sat up for a while, my father started messing with it. He converted it to 12volt operation and after breaking a tie rod, built a front bumper(which I left for sentimental value). After his death it sat up for about 8 years till I started playing with it. I was just going to use it as a "grounds" tractor but got interested in fixing it up. It once again sat up for 4 years while i was in college and getting married. In 2005 i once again drug it from the shed and started using it. I overhauled the engine and built a 3pt for it. I am still doing a few minor repairs and touches before I plan to repaint in the spring. The pictures on this page are old but they show the cub in its previous glory.
