| Now we are getting back to our roots. Dragracing. Over the next months we started to get a little more horsepower in the beast. For the intake we decided on a MAC Cold Air Induction tube and get rid of the stock air box and Intake silencer (they still make these). And that was fitted with a K&N filter. We took the stock throttle body and upper intake off and gasket-matched them as well as cleaning up the interior with a grinder. This is a trick we did on a '90 GT we owned and it works good. There is alot of crap left over in the form of blemeshes and peaks in the intake that don't need to be there. With the intake sorted we put on a set of MAC 2.5" Cat back exhausts. We also have a set of the MAC ProChambers but have not put them on as of yet. A Steeda timing adjuster makes quick work of setting the timing and a Plasma Booster insures that the sparks will stay lit. Of course you can't go fast by missing shifts so a Pro 5.0 shifter sits in the stock location. Then for the spray. Not happy with the thought of blowing the plastic intake to smithireens, we choose to go with a Holley/NOS NOSzle system. This should wake the beast up with it's direct-port nitrous spraying in an extra 125hp. |
