1. qttask.exe (search Google: 'disable qttask')
Quicktime: disable continual tray loading. To disable qttask.exe permanently, do a search of your hard drive, after finding it, rename it to qttask.exe.old. Now it will never start again and it has no effect on how QuickTime runs.
2. ctfmon.exe (search Google: 'disable ctfmon')
I was able to disable ctfmon.exe as follows (Note: I run Windows XP and I do not have MS Office installed): Go to Start, then Control Panel, then Regional and Language Options, then click Languages tab, then Details, then Advanced tab, then put a check next to �Turn off advanced text service� then hit Apply. When you hit apply ctfmon.exe will be removed from Task Manager process list permanently. I hope this helps anyone else who is having issues.
3. Adobe Photo Downloader. (search Google:'disable adobe photo downloader')
In the Photoshop Elements Organizer, choose Edit > Preferences > Camera Or Card Reader. Deselect "Auto Launch Adobe Photo Downloader on Device Connect"
