| TRANS CANANA HOCKEY LEAGUE |
| For the past year or so, Dave Hodge and Gord Miller have had an idea, one they are proud to unveil, or perhaps unleash today. It is for a new hockey league, The Trans-Canada Hockey League. It works like this: our league has 12 teams based in Canada; in the six NHL cities, plus Halifax, Quebec City, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Regina. But how does it compare against the mighty NHL? By being smaller and better. You see, in our league we play 4-on4 all the time, and when our games are tied after regulation time, they go straight to a shootout. The winner wins, and there's no more point for losing. Our league has a cap on salaries and ticket prices. It has full revenue sharing, a 64 game season and a championship series that ends in April, not June. Which trophy will our league champion receive? Why the Stanley Cup of course. You see, back in 1893, Lord Stanley donated the cup to be presented to the hockey champions of Canada, so we'll be petitioning the Hall of Fame to let our league use it. Dave Hodge and Gord Miller think the TCHL is superior in every way. The only thing we're lacking is money, but then, that other league has the same problem, so we'll call it even. If you have any thoughts on this idea please feel free to email Gord Miller |
