Week Fifteen, Day One

Ready for another work week each member of the team makes their way to the station.  Once together they work out a few details on how they plan to deal with the Harrow and their approaching trip to Lyeuskold.  Krystal is worried about the venture, saying she has no wish to have any run ins with any more “sick people” (flesh ghouls) and asks if its such a good idea.  It is generally agreed its not a very good idea but they do not have any alternatives at the moment.  They were told by Anosa they should make their way there and seal the “well” which is causing the ghouls to exist.

Wanting to get started on preparation for their grim venture, Grey Eyes and Lilly pay a visit to Samson, the Overseer Alchemist of the Harrows.  Offering acid rounds and potions of fly and heal they buy the right to copy the alchemical formula for adipocere candles and one to convert the fat of a corpse to adipocere.  With this they hope to make their own candles rather than continuing to trade for them.

Not fully knowing what is to come, Luke spends his time with Krystal while everyone else runs around in an effort to cover their asses.

Jeffery pays a visit to Randolph and asks if he can manage a special order.  Expecting that the future will hold zelengorsk he hopes to have custom grenades made.  Believing that a form of grenade incorporating salt and mithril might be effective he asks if it is possible.  Randolph honestly does not know as salt can react differently in explosives but says he will give it a try.  Returning home he explains to Kikah that he will be leaving with the rest of the team somewhere dangerous and because of that she cannot accompany him.  He really only wants her to be absent to that Grey Eyes and Lilly can employ their Art without the risk that Kikah will see them for witches and attack.  Kikah is as defiant and stubborn as usual, explaining that if he is going somewhere dangerous she had better be there for him.  If anything happened to Jeffery she would be alone in Esspis and that idea frightens her.  He fails to convince her not to come and so finally relents, letting her know why he feels she should not come.  Kikah gives Jeffery her word that she will not act upon anything she sees Grey Eyes and Lilly do, instead she will be content to gather her own personal evidence about the two for “later”.

Week Fifteen, Day Two

Today is the big day Krystal has been dreading since she heard of it, the day of her Command Review.  The team is taken to a private room with seats for everyone.  Already seated there is a serious looking fellow in a simple suit who watches them enter expectantly.  He does not introduce himself as anything more than an interviewer who will be conducting the command review and asks that they all just get started.

Looking around the group he notes that there is little of the original team remaining besides Krystal herself and jots something down on a clipboard.  Krystal looks as if this is some form of attack on her ability to keep a team together but says nothing.

Moving onto the actual review he brings up an incident that actually pertains to some of the team, a gling attack on a corporation building.  He reads from his clipboard that not only did they manage to expel the glings they also managed to out-perform a secondary enforcer team.  He asks to what they owe their success in this venture.

Jeffery attributes their success to “thinking outside the box” and working out “out-manoeuvre” the other team.  Lilly simply states it was also being brave in spite of what they faced.  The others have little else to add and so the next topic is brought up.

A report of a “haunting” was made to the enforcers and their team was sent to investigate.  The report says they managed to prove to the home owner that there was no haunting but he was difficult to handle.  When asked how their leader aided them all they say is “She had good points”.

The first major assignment of the team was a trip to New Lyshy as commissioned by a noble.  The trip there was less than simple but they say Krystal made it tolerable.  Jeffery adds that the acting chief of New Lyshy earned his admiration but when asked if he could remember the chief’s name he found he could not.  During their stay they both lost and gained a member, and so he takes this moment to ask Grey Eyes why she joined up.  She says it was to investigate the poison and perhaps find a solution and from there she enlisted with those that aided her.

Lastly he brings to the table their current task, dealing with the Harrows.  He asks what plans they have and how they see it turning out.  Grey Eyes says they plan to patrol and gather information about the Harrows from the Harrows themselves.  Lilly says they plan to further investigate the sundered which has been found to be an effective hiding place from the Enforcers as a whole.  She also feels that the Harrows are mostly just average people trying to keep what they see as corrupt authority out of their homes.  Luke believes that the Harrows are up to something deeper than just protecting themselves, but is not sure what just yet.

Done with the review, he dismisses them for the rest of the day but asks Krystal to stay behind.  Once they leave Lilly and Grey Eyes use clairvoyance to listen in on the otherwise private conversation.  He explains that while the team has been successful so far there is a lot of room for her to improve.  For the time being she is to be given a minor promotion but more effort is required of her in the future.

With a little more time off the team breaks up and prepares for their upcoming trip in their own ways.  Jeffery is content with what he has in the works and so spends his free time with Kikah.  Grey Eyes and Lilly, however, have new plans dealing with candles.

Knowing they need special soil conditions to promote the formation of adipocere the two of them make their way to a Document Repository.  Once there they search for maps that can show the location of graveyards and the surrounding area.  Waste dumps with packing material seem like a good bet and so they focus for those near dumps used by the Greenworks Company.  By checking the dates of when the dumps and graveyards started they find two that seem to match what they need.  The one they pick is approximately two blocks away from the dump but even this distance should be enough.

Disguised with cantrips so they are not so easily identified they make their way to the graveyard and conduct a few soil tests.  From the tests they find the soil conditions improve the deeper they go for what they want.  Not wanting to take any longer then they have to Grey Eyes starts to dig while Lilly keeps watch.  Periodically they employ detect undead to help steer them away from trouble but everything seems clear.  The grave they picked turns out to be of a buck, while there is some adipocere it is not very much.  They collect what they can and plan search a bit more intelligently, using the date on the grave and name to find females.  It appears the most recent ones were likely already robbed as they seem sunken so they move onto the next available.  The next grave is indeed of a female and yields more than the first grave did but still this is to slow.  Retreating to the top of a nearby building they use clairvoyance to check each promising grave first to find the ones with the most adipocere.  This turns out to be a good idea, as not only do they find the better suited graves they also find some are still infested with jixx.  At the end of the day they harvest six graves total.
