| My name is Ryan George. This site is dedicated to my 1989 Chevrolet Camaro IROCZ28. This car has been owned by two people since purchased new in 1989. I bought the car back in August of 1999 in Fresno California from a dealership that had bought the car as a trade in. Other than regular maintanence and a few minor problem associated with any used car this vehicle has performed like new. She runs great, has an awesome little sound system in her that I installed and looks great too. Back in early December 2001 I was involved in an accident with a 65 year old woman and her 70's something Pinto that decided her lane on this two lane road wasn't enough for her, so she took my lane too, along with part of my front fender and front bumper. What's even worse is that she didn't have any insurrance, lucky for me though my insurrance picked up the bill. $1400 to straighten a fender, replace the front bumper and paint both. My insurance gave me the $1400 to which I added another $1100 of my own and got the whole car painted and the infamous IROCZ door decals put on her. She now looks better than the day she rolled off the assembly line. When I purchased the car it had just a little over 47,000 miles on her odometer. As of now she sits at about 74,500 miles. So there is no doubt that I drive her. In fact I love driving this car. There is plenty of power in the fuel injected small block 350 under the hood. She runs great and thanks to a new paint job this last April she looks even better. The 5.7 Liter, 350 C.I. Tuned Port Injected Chevy engine that snarls under the hood puts out a well rounded 250 HP and a staggering 350 lb/ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 700R4 four speed automatic transmission and a 2.77 Borg Warner rear end. Exhaust is handled by a custom cat back system consisting of a custom 3" pipe from cat to muffler, then a Flowmaster 80 series muffler, and finally excapes through dual 3 1/2" angle cut exhaust tips. In stock trim these cars should run a low 14 - high 13 second quartermile time, but I have yet to run mine so I don't know what this one will do. I have done a bit of street racing though and added many imports and a few mustangs to my kill list. This is my baby. She sleeps under a big blue car cover at night and is kept as pristine as possible all the time. Check out my pictures page and you'll see what I mean. |
