MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES

LEARNING SCENARIO

TASK #

Congratulations you are a travel agent at "CROPOLA.Co" a Travel Agency specializing in Central and South American Travel locations. You have just completed a telephone conversation with Mr. Bush who wishes to spend a 12 day vacation traveling in Central or South America. His goal is to see as many cultural events and geographical places of interest as possible within a 12 day travel period. He knows nothing about any of the countries and wishes you to choose the country, propose an itinerary, and provide information on all places or events you propose within the itinerary. He owns a large company and plans to travel extensively when he retires (soon). If you do a good job you will earn his future business. Therefore you have decided to create a brochure and a media power point presentation supported by your research from the world wide web, and any other resource you will like to use in the presentation.

You will need to find relevant information that meets and answers your needs. You must find out which parts of the country your client may wish to go and be able to support you recommendations. In the course of finding this relevant information you will:

Plan a personal travel budget.
Research information about individual rights.
Find and analyze competitors travel/cultural/ads.
Determine safety issues and concerns.
Contact an expert from that country (if available).
Make a choices regarding itinerary.
Determine tourist attractions and cultural places.
Compare travel methods and costs.
Identify different traditions & customs.
List documentation & personal items required.

Howard Gardner (1983) defines inteligence as the capacity one has to resolve problems or elaborate products that are valuable for one o many cultures.

INSTRUCTIONS:

The following activities have been designed based on the "MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE THEORY" by Howard Gardner. Please review carefully and evaluate the definitions of and information related to these multiple intelligences. You will identify the 3 intelligence areas that most closely match your learning style and complete 1 assignment under each of these 3 intelligence. You will include the results of your research and learning as part of your "Power Point" presentation to the class. These efforts must not duplicate any work already assigned by me as the "standard content" of your presentation. Please be aware you will ultimately complete work under each of the 9 intelligence but not all 9 Intelligence will be represented in the power point presentation.
