| Aaliyah Haughton, her name meaning "highest most exalted one" in Swahili, was born January 16,1979 in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of five she moved to Detriot where she was going to start her new promising and unfortgetable career. In 1994 when Aaliyah was 15 she made her first debut album Age Aint Nothin But A Number. At this age she married her producer R. Kelly. After this Aaliyah resurfaced with her second album One In A Million. By the end of the decade she was starring in the movie Romeo Must Die with Jet Li. Just a month after her self-titled album in 2001, she died August 25, 2001in a private plane crash coming back from a video shoot in the Abaco, Bahamas.
