My Loving Aunts Robert H. Gilbert, Jr. March 08, 2004
If you have Aunts like mine, you would love them dearly. But, sometimes they are either too bossy or too nosey. This is a story of my two loveable Aunts. I was told that when I shared this story with others, I was opening up a can of whip A--.
One summer day, I decided that I was going to Wal-Mart and get some new shirts and pants. So, I stopped by my Aunt Bossys house for a short visit. I tried to see her as often as I could, as she was 79 years old. I told her, I was going shopping, which was the wrong thing to say. She grabbed her purse and cane, and said she was ready. What you going shopping for, she said. Just some new pants and shirts, I replied. Its about time, yours is getting ragged anyway. Off to Wal-Mart we went.

Going inside to the mens department, I started looking for bargains. I only had about $40.00 I could spend. As I started shopping, here comes Aunt Bossy. She started looking, and when I picked something I liked, she would put it back and say, Youre too old for that. She picked out a polka dotted shirt. Wow! Green shirt with pink, black and yellow dots. Who would wear something like that. Guess she was reading my mind, as she said. You will. I said, I am 65 years old, now why would I wear something like that. Its not in style.
