September was a good and bad month for Nolan. He wound up having severe ROP in both of his eyes. We had to transport him via ambulance to a new Hospital, Baylor University, that specialized in eye surgery.

Once we were there Nolan would wind up have laser surgery in both eyes, and then later on having buckles placed around both eyes to try and prevent the retina from detaching. Dad is still commuting back and forth from Denver, and flying would now be much more challenging due to the September 11th attacks.

These pictures show his new home at Baylor. You can see that Nolan is getting bigger, but his lungs still need help (note the blue hoses in the pictures).

This is Nolan's new crib at our 2nd hospital (Baylor University) after his first eye surgery. He is in a crib because he can now maintain his own body temperature.

This is Mom (Jody) holding Nolan. In this photo is is on CPAP to help him breath, now off of the ventilator.

Here is a full shot of our boy. You can see that he is past his kidney problem that caused him to swell, and on to growing into a cute baby. He is getting air in this picture through what is called blow by.

Nolan was due on September 10th. In these photos he is actually at his original due date.

Nolan always and still does have his flag up, showing his support for his country.

Here is another pic showing Nolan all bundled up. The cloth on his head has his mothers scent in it so Nolan always knows that his mom is close.
