December overall was a good month for Nolan. This month he would get bigger in weight, learn to move around a bit, and most importantly get his tracheotomy.

The surgery for the trach was well worth it. Nolan would be able to move around again, and his breathing wouldn't be as difficult as it had been. We went through several rough periods this month of him going on and off the respirator trying to breathe properly prior to the trach procedure.

This is a picture of Nolan on December 16th on his 6-month birthday. He had just recently gotten the trach.

Here is Nolan in his bouncy chair again. You can see he is starting to actually fit in the chair. The blue hose going to his neck is the trach.

This is one of Nolan's primary nurses, Eugene. He just loves Nolan.

Here is a full view of Nolan just before Christmas. The pad on his belly is his G-button. This is where his food gets put in.

If you look at Nolan's nose you will see a scratch. This is because he has learned how to bring his hand up to his mouth. In this case he missed, and accidentally scratched his nose with his fingernail.

This is Nolan waiting for Santa Claus!!

Nolan is really worn out after opening all of his Christmas gifts??

This shows the max reach we have right now with the trach.
