This is an excerpt from Laser on 729Khz testing her Helium Balloon antenna which kept flying away.  This was taped in early 84 and Johnny  Lewis (Stephen Bishop on Caroline in the 70s) and an american doing some tests, they came on officially in May that year.
Here is a really naff link, Dixie Peach (later of Radio 1 fame)on the controls on Caroline during a test transmission on 19th August 1983. At the time the studio had not been soundproofed properly, you can clearly hear the ships generator/engines in the background.
Nigel Harris on Caroline 819 morning show  Oct 1990, notice the signal  is'nt as good as the early 80s on 319, due to the raid in 89.  Just 1 month after this recording was made Radio Caroline had faded into the ether.
Atlantis made some memorable broadcasts and this is another one of those GEMS, they pass the mike thru a hatch and BUZZZZZZZZ.
Atlantis more from that fun packed lot of loonies in 1974.
Here is another novel changeover between Mark Mathews on Caroline Overdrive and Ad Rpberts on Radio Monique.
Brian Allan who used to with the Caroline Roadshow in the 70s doing his bit LIVE on Caroline 319 from the Ross Revenge 1984.
An English DJ makes a remark in between the changeover from Caroline Overdrive to the Duch station Radio Monique, it's quite funny really.  I wonder if anyone else taped this?
MORE  EXCLUSIVE AIRCHECKS
The Reading Rock Festival advertised on Caroline Overdrive in 1986.
Here is a guy called Michael Lloyd on Caroline 259 in 1975, he is sitting in for Simon Barrat (who was Wally on the wireless in the 80s on 319)who had went to put his lifejacket on for fear of drowning.  This is 'free' radio at it's best.
More drama from Mr Barrat aboard a drifting Mi Amigo in heavy seas ending up on a sandbank, fortunately the ships engines were working at the time and they  managed to get of it.  You will probably not hear broadcasts like this ever again.
Here is a crazy DJ from Caroline 558 who was out of his tree, Mr Christopher England in full flight.  If this is what life at sea for months does for you take me there, i hope you enjoy this snippet and the one below as well.
Anothe few moments of Mr England who has his own web site about Radio Caroline..  He was a very zany crazy jock or was he just out on licence from the local looney bin, probably he is a bloody good actor, great broadcasting though.
