Liverpool waterfront with the ferry, three graces and Cathedral in background

I don't speak French { well, that's not quite true because I can ask for
a beer and the toilet and after that what else is to know ? }; I can't
stand the food {apart from the baguettes, preferably stuffed with
chips} ; and the French don't like me ; but I fell in love with Paris
many years ago and have remained besotted ever since. I like the
Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame,The Marais and The Butte Chaumont.
I even like the Metro and the notices telling me to give up my seat
for veterans of the Franco- Prussian war and watch out for rabbits
who can trap a paw in the doors. I like the hiss of the doors as the
train pulls away and best of all I like the names ---Marie D'Ivry,
Chatelet, Bir Hakeim and so on.
So, this is one Scouser's reminiscences of the French Capital. It's not
particularly scholarly and it's not exactly Nobel Prize in I.T. material
but it is about the things that I like, so if there's only me and half a
dozen people who like what I have done well "ca fait rien" or "san
ferry ann" as the correct pronunciation goes . By the way, the pages
are sequential to some degree so you may find it an advantage to
start at the top { Musee d'Orsay} and work through, although it's not
compulsory. Oh and the other thing is the pictures are large so if you
can't be bothered waiting for them to download that's your problem.
Anyway, if you have reached this far you might as well carry on and
take a visual stroll through Paris which is just about the next best
thing to being there.
