REY ADEL'S
SHORT STORY
"TEARS AT SUNSET"

"We never knew it till it passed us, can't we?" She was thinking aloud.

Tom heard her words but remained not listening. He wanted her to stop. He knew what had been upsetting Marie. He also knew that she doesn't know what he knew. Her mother told him the truth.

"For five months. I have been with you and you made them my happiest moments," she continued saying her thoughts. "Look at the sun, it is hiding now. But it will be back again this time tomorrow. It goes on that place tirelessly. Like our love, it can go on forever. Will it, Tom?"

"Yes, it will, Marie." That was all Tom could say.

"There will be a time when you will be alone here to watch the sunset. Tom, promise me that you'll be thinking of me by then."
