REY ADEL'S
SHORT STORY
"TEARS AT SUNSET"

Tom was the last one who went out of his class. Once outside, he settled at the student's shed to watch the sunset.

He found himself gazing at her.

She was crying as the sun sets. She can't help it but felt that the day had just passed.Would I be seeing a lot of these in the future? she thought, unaware of his approach.

"A hankie for your tears?" asked a rich voice who offered one.

She was startled but composed herself. "A new ice breaker?" She smiled, yet the tears kept falling. She decided to avail of his offer.

"Tom. Thomas Danseco. Fourth year, philo." His eyes queried.

"I'll give you my name if you won't ask why." Her tears had abated. Her misted eyes were still worried.

"Marie," she introduced herself while erasing the path of her tears off her face. "Marie Vergara. Fourth year, lit." She offered him a handshake.

The clouds discovered the sun while they both experienced the view and talked about themselves.
