Man is the only creature who makes organized war against his own species.
WAR, Ashley Montagu and Edward Darling in their book, The Prevalence of Nonsense define,"is the most artificial, of all human activities, for it originates from artificial causes, is waged by artificial entities (states)," is employed with artificial means, and is gained for artificial ends.
Many have waged war for many reasons -- ambition for Caesar; hatred of the enemy, in the case of Hannibal; national glory for Bismark; and a throng of other motives from material gain, to religious fanaticism, and political faiths. Reasons may vary, but have remained the same. It is man's dissatisfaction, an integral part of human nature, with his contemporaneous reality which nurtures the urge to wage war. Suppression of the latter might endanger the equilibrium of the whole personality.
