REY ADEL'S POETRY
THE SAILOR'S PLEA

Come sail with me to the open sea
Because there we are alone and free.
I'll love thee as much as you love me
From thence to the end of etern'ty,
A vow we etched on an old oak tree.

When we're at sea, I'll narrate to thee
All the plans we've made endearingly.
We'll talk about life: of what's to be;
We'll talk about us: of you and me;
Of memories we've shared full with glee.

I'll whisper sweet nothings to your ears
Then beg you to stay beside me, dear
For I can't live life without you near.
But if you would go, leave without tears
For you will break my heart, yours with smears.

Away from you, I believe I'll miss
Your warm embrace; your scented caress.
Away from me, you will yearn for these.
So come my love to that lovely place
For only there will keep me my peace.
