Authors Notes at end. *deep breath* *************** Logan's Apartment- Morning After Max smiled, "So sweet," she whispered as she held a sleeping Logan in her arms, Smelling food she rose, wrapping Logan's robe around her and made her way towards the kitchen. "Is that Bling?" Her eyes open widely as she took in the figure at the stove, "Raine?" Raine turned and smiled at her, "Wow, you've woken up!" Max shrugged and tried to hide the grin that had been perpetually glued onto her face since the night before, "I was never asleep, why aren't you at your place? How long have you been here?" The younger girl shrugged nervously, "Since four, I got a visitor last night." "Zack?" Raine shook her head, "Lydecker," she accentuated his name with a toss of her egg. Max's face went white, "You okay?" "I'm fine. He offered me anti-depressants and seizure meds in trade for your location, though." At Max's worried look, Raine rolled her eyes, "I'm not an idiot. I kicked him in the face." "It's not that I think you turned us in, but has he followed you?" Max asked. Raine shook her head, "I'm sure I wasn't followed, I even walked the last mile here on foot." The older girl nodded her head, "You think he traced your bike?" "I'm almost sure of it, I'm taking apart after breakfast." Max looked at Raine's creation, "I thought you didn't know how to cook." Raine laughed, "How do you figure that?" "Just a guess. None of us do," Max replied. "It's just a fried egg," Raine looked and sniffed at her blackened creation, causing Max to laugh, "REALLY over fried. DAMNIT!" She hit the pan, causing the egg to fly and land on the floor. Max looked like she was about to fall over, "FIVE SECOND RULE!" Raine, staring at the fallen egg, "Does he have a dog?" she asked, which caused Max to double over laughing. "It's not funny!" Max could barely contain her laughter, "You're right," she pressed her lips together as her face turned pink. "It's not like you're much better," Raine said, rolling her eyes. "Let's not talk about my cooking skills." Raine laughed, "You can't cook, can you?" Max shook her head, her curls bouncing against her shoulders, "Nope." Raine sobered up and frowned, "It wasn't one of the things Lydecker was really big on us learning." "Killing, fighting, but not cooking," Max said, also melancholy. "Do you love him?" she asked Max. "Lydecker?!" Raine shook her head, "You know who I'm talking about, Max. Logan." Max sighed, "I don't want to talk about it Raine." Shrugging, Raine replied, "Kay, whatever." "I just...." Max started, unsure of how to finish her sentence. Logan wheels out of his bedroom in only his boxers, unaware that anyone else is there, "Max?" Max walked out of the kitchen, hoping to catch Logan before Raine got view of her newly-founded lover in his underwear. Raine grinned behind Max's back knowingly. She thought she smelled pheromones in the air..."Someone got lucky," she leered silently, smiling to herself. Max groaned, "I heard that!" she called behind her, meeting Logan at his bathroom door, "Hey," Max shifted nervously, the tension in the air was so thick! "Sleep well?" she asked. He nodded and smiled up at her, causing her nervousness flow away. He grinned up at her, a satisfied, 'cat that caught the canary' grin, "I slept very well." She leaned down and kissed him softly, caressing his neck with her hand while the other rested on his shoulder, "Good, then you can make us breakfast, Raine is here." Logan's faced switched from an enthusiastic happiness to serious concern, "Is she okay?" Max nodded, "She'll be fine... she's Manticore-- we're always fine... Lydecker found her." "Was she followed? How did she get away? Does Raine need a place to stay?" "No, and Raine may be tiny, but she packs a BIG kick! I'm just surprised she didn't give Original Cindy the same treatment," Max replied, casting a glance towards the kitchen, "She'll need to stay here for a few nights. Logan's forehead wrinkled in thought, "And what did Original Cindy do?" Max sighed, sitting on his lap, "Raine got fired yesterday, she punched Normal. Who luckily is still alive. Original Cindy wasn't too happy about it, so she confronted Raine about it." "Ouch." "Yeah, I told Original Cindy that the meds Raine is on are Tryptophan and that those seizures run in our family," Max finished, laying her head on his chest. He nodded, "Good cover, want to go take a shower?" he asked, running his hands up and down her arms. Max grinned, knowing full well that Raine could take care of herself if she did, "Maybe." *************** End 7B/? *************** Authors Notes: 7B? You ask? 7A is rated NC17 and can be obtained by asking me for it and giving me your age... ^.^ I'm sorry- but I'm not really all that happy with how that half chapter turned out. There's nothing needful to the story in it. Just smut. ^.^ So if you don't read it, you're not missing much. ^.^ I'm also considering making this just plain 7A because I'm not comfortable with posting NC17, like actual GRAPHIC NC17 even though it was on my site for awhile... Tell me what you think! Authors Notes 2: FINALLY! My chapters are usually just four pages long, and I'm spacing them out more as well... any comments? Read and Review!!
