She just didn't know how to process all of the words. Her defense mechanism set up. "Where much too different, we're from two separate worlds." she started. Not being able to look at him, she played with her fingers. "I admit, you're partly right." replied Mulder, crouching down infront of her. "But what we have in common is strong enough to bond us for life," he took her hands into his. "Look behind your own soul, and the person that you'll see just might remind you of me." Scully closed her eyes tightly, fighting the urge to fall into his arms. Mulder tried to look into her eyes. "I laugh, I love, I hope, I try," he took in a deep breath. "I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry. Scully, I know you do the same things too, because we're really not that different, me and you." She stood up from the couch, snatching her hands from Mulder's. Tears were about to fall. Scully opened her mouth, then closed it in confusion. She could hardly argue with his pure and simple logic, but logic never could convince a heart. She walked out of the apartment, leaving Mulder there, alone. It was days before she'd see him again. She'd always dreamed of loving someone more exotic than Mulder, a different kind of exotic, and he just didn't seem to fit the part. She searched for greener pastures, but never could forget what he whispered when she left. "'I laugh, I love, I hope, I try, I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry; and I know you do the same things too, cause we're really not that different, me and you. Memories ran across her mind as she pulled into the parking lot of his apartment complex. She made her way to the fourth floor; to his apartment. Was it time, or was it truth? Maybe both led her back to his door. She knocked twice, then walked in to find him sitting on his couch. As her tears fell down to his feet, she didn't say 'I love you', what she said meant even more. "I laugh, I love, I hope, I try, I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry; and know you do the same things too, so we're really not that different, me and you." XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX I'm leaving it at that... I couldn't think of a more perfect ending for the story. =) Please email me to tell me if you love it, if you hate it, or just to say hi! Chibiu_Reenie@yahoo.com Proud member of 'Shipper's Unite!'
