From Last Scene Logan's Apartment Once they were in the bathroom, the reality of the situation hit Max while Logan was getting undressed, "I don't think we should do this." Logan blinked, not too entirely shocked, "You don't have to do anything you don't want to, Max. You have nothing to prove to me." Max smiled, "We just moved... too fast, Logan, I think we should slow down. We've only known each other for a year..." she walked around, her arms shaking lightly. "Max," Logan grabbed her hand lightly, "It's okay. I understand, and I also agree. It was too soon. We should have waited," he kissed the palm of her hand. "Last night was good, though," she leaned down and kissed him. He blushed as they broke apart, "Yeah," his fingers played with hers, "We'll take it slower, no more 'banging the gong' until we're both ready," she laughed at his use of her and Kendra's nickname for what they had done the night before, "You take the first shower, I'll go lay back down, okay?" She nodded, "Logan- you don't have to..." "Shh! Just do it, Max, I need to catch an extra hour anyway," he gave her hand a final squeeze, let it fall to her side, and rolled into his bedroom. Max grinned to herself, reaching out to turn the shower on, happy that he understood. *************** Raine heard the shower go on and smiled to herself. She hadn't really ever had a boyfriend, nor did she ever want one. Not at this time in her life, when she had to look over her shoulder every five minutes. Her thoughts couldn't stray away from what Lydecker had told her. She needed those anti- depressants like she needed air. It wasn't hard to get them the first time, while she was still living with her adopted parents. They had taken her to a doctor to get the nightmares to stop. But, of course, that was before they had turned on her. Right now, the herbal anti-depressants were keeping her stabilized at a hundred dollars a bottle. She heard once that they used to cost much less. Raine just wished she remembered a time when shelves were full, and electricity worked non- stop. There are some that say it will be that way again, that America had pulled itself out of depression before. She hoped those people were right. *************** Authors Notes: I wasn't happy with Raine 7A, but I posted it anyway (my email kept freezing up. ^.^). I corrected many problems in it, but it bugged me that I had them sleep together so soon after their second kiss.... it unnerved me to no end. ^.^ I, personally, believe in abstinence. BUT, I was writing how I thought James Cameron would've played it. (Ever see Terminator?) Bottom line: I promised it. So this is my chapter where I clean it all up. I hope you enjoyed it, and if I have offended anyone at all, I do apologize.
