His head turned when he heard his door open, "Hey, I paged you two hours ago." Max entered the room and shrugged her jacket off, "Sorry, new girl and I got acquainted." He nodded, "Have fun?" he asked. "Yeah. Hooking her up at Jam Pony. Name's Raine." Okay, now he was confused, "As in precipitation? "No, as in lost siblings; but I'm not sure yet." she replied. "Not going to push it?" he asked. She shrugged, "I don't know. Every time I see one of my sibs- they go away," she hung her head silently for a moment. Logan sighed, "Yeah. Listen, I need a favor." "Who's stepped on the toes of 'Eyes Only' this time?" she asked, giving him a smile. "Ouch." Max shrugs her shoulders and gives him a smile. "Not that kind of favor, Max. Listen, Bling's sick. I need you to help me with my exercises," he said, giving her an innocent look. She smiled, "No problem." "Thanks, I know that it could probably wait until tomorrow, but he has the flu, took him down pretty hard," Logan explained. "Bigger they are, the harder they fall." "Right. I want to keep the work-out on schedule. If I do that, then doc says I'll be on my feet in no time," seeing the look on her face, he swallowed audibly, "Why do I feel I've just gotten myself into something I'll regret?" he asked. Max grinned widely, "Because you have." "I guess we better get started." "Damn straight," she walks towards the work out room, "Come on!" she called. Logan smiled to himself, "Yes, ma'am!" In the workout room. Logan pulls himself up onto the work-out bar. "Where do we start?" Max asked. "On my legs." "If you're good, I'll let you cook me dinner." Max took hold of one of his legs. ******* The Next Morning 8:00 AM Raine's body continually convulsed in the privacy of a girl's bathroom stall at Jam Pony. Raine groaned, "Shit, come on!" She grasped the pill bottle, popping the top off of the bottle and swallows three of them. "Shit, shit, shit." Original Cindy knocked on the bathroom stall, "Hey girl, you still in here?" "Yeah, gimme a second," Raine replied with a shaky voice. "'Kay, Normal's waiting." "I know, I'll be right out, Kay?" she responded, leaning against the cold, graffiti-covered wall, taking comfort from it. "You okay?" Original Cindy asked. "Yeah, fine," Raine comes out of the stall and washes her hands. "You were shaking' like an earthquake, girl!" "Not enough sleep," she dried her hands on her jeans. "Right," Original Cindy said. Raine looked Original Cindy right in the eye, "Don't tell." "No worries there." replied Original Cindy, still curious as hell. Raine hugged her, "Thanks girl." They walk out of the bathroom and head over to the desk. "Hey, Normal! My girl here's looking' for a job!" Original Cindy called. "We're not hiring," Normal responded, "Get moving' people! Bip Bip Bip!" Original Cindy leaned against the counter, "She's really bugging come on!" "I'm not afraid of hard work, Sir," Raine gave him her most emphatic look, showing her big blue eyes and pouted bottom lip. His eyes took Raine in, "Last person who told me that bailed on me, how do I know that you won't?" he asked. Raine smiled, "''Cause I'm here to stay!" Normal gave her an annoyed look, "You sure about that?" Nodding her head, Raine answered, "Yeah." "Then fill this out," Normal searched around for an old application, and handed it to Raine; oddly enough, it only looked about half as bad as the one he handed to Zack earlier that year. "You won't regret this!" Raine exclaimed, pulling a pen off of the counter. "He better not, girl. We had some boy go bust," informed Original Cindy. "Really? What was his name?" Raine asked. "Zack.. Sam, or something, he knows Max." Raine, still filling out the application, responded, "A lot of people seem to know Max." Original Cindy nodded, proud of her Boo, "Yep. She's a bad ass- but she's a good girl." "By the way, I have a girl you might wanna meet. She's been looking for someone like you." "I thought you didn't fish," Original Cindy said. "I don't. I just get whatever's jumping' in my boat," replied Raine, finishing the application in record time. Original Cindy laughed, "What's this chick's number?" Raine, wrote and tore a small strip of paper out of the cheese-hole application, "Call her after five, she's sweet, pretty. Not top of the line, but all in her own," she handed the piece of paper to Original Cindy. "She have a name?" Original Cindy asked. "Yeah, it's Sweety." "Seriously, you're tripping Original Cindy!" Raine turned to face Original Cindy, "Like you have any room to talk?" she asked, at Original Cindy's look, she topped it off with a, "Thought so." Raine handed the application to Normal. She gave him a sweet smile, "I can start whenever you want me to." Normal eyed the application, "You didn't put an address." Raine rolled her eyes, "That's why I'm getting a job." Normal sighed, "Where are you staying right now?" "A motel. You know, the one with all the rats." "Oh, yeah. THAT narrows it down!" Normal handed a package to Herbal. "Um, how about the one that's partially torn down?" Raine lifted an eyebrow. Normal just stared at her. "Give me a map," she demanded, holding out her hand. Normal was once again confused, "What? Raine rolled her eyes, "Give. Me. A. Map," she insisted. Normal fished around for a map and handed it to Raine, "There you go." Raine gave him another sweet smile, "Thanks," Raine sat down on a sofa in the lounge and began to memorize the city map. Original Cindy followed her and plumped down right next to her, "Girl, the only person I know who looks at a map the same way you do is Max!" Raine lifted her head, her suspicion about Max growing, "Really? That's one of my sibling's names." Original Cindy shook her head, "Can't you just say sister, or brother?" Raine followed suit and shook her own head, smiling to herself, "Nope- that'd be too simple." ****** End 2/? ****** Updated: 4/4/01- changed 'Pip, Pip, Pip' to 'Bip, Bip, Bip' ^.^ Review!!!!!!
