Lucid Dreams
is not your typical comic book/graphic novel. It was written with
a pace of its own. It is not something that caters to the superhero
or the violent genre that is being marketed outside the country.
The story revolves around
the dream that the main character Basti has,but which has a surreal
ending. There's the heroine's Aya and Deva .There's this spiritualist
who lives in Patag.I could say that this work of fiction has that
Negrense identity-the landmarks and the sensibilities surrounding
it.
I
really like the visual nuggets. It's typical Revo Yanson artwork
with hints of swirls and mystical flavor, which suggest the quest
of the mind for spiritual longing. The story unfolds like an orchestral
piece, from the subtle introduction to the swirling but lucid
chorus of a story; with emphasis on minute details.

from Rommel Labatos" "In Search of Morpheus")
