06. Rocky road to Dublin – The Dubliners

Notes:

A slip jig, in 9/8 time. The customary slip jig seems to run on eternally, somehow. In this case the effect is multiplied by the intensity of the wordplay, a singularly hard piece to sing. The song tells the fate of an Irish labourer who leaves Ireland to travel to England, where he encounters the racism of the locals – which he duly resolves in his own particular manner.
