Ark and Phoenix set off, into the wasteland, this wasteland toke most of the planet.
The wasteland had very little growing in it, it was nothing more than rocks, grass a few trees and animals.
Nether of them had said anything since they left Roe. The silence was broking by a low humming sound. "Do you hear that?" said Ark
"No what was it" asked Phoenix
"Quick up here" Ark said as he climbed a nearby tree closely followed by Phoenix
"What?" asked Phoenix
"Sssshhhhh" said Ark
"Sorry" she said in a whisper
"Look" said Ark pointing to the place were they were just stood, as they looked down ground force of Taku 50 -60 strong, walked by them. "Looks like their going to Row" said Ark
"Why would they be going to Row?" she asked
"To look for survivors, and if they find any...." he paused
"They'll kill them." said Phoenix finishing Ark sentence for him
"Yeah they will" said Ark.
They waited in the tree till the ground force had gone.
"I think the coast is clear" Phoenix said sticking her head out of the tree.
"Ok then, onward we go" said Ark jumping out of the tree.
"Wait for me" she said also jumping out of the tree.
They carried on as the day got on the 3 sun's got hotter by about midday the sun's were so hot that Ark and Phoenix had to sit in the shade of a nearby tree, which had very few branch's left on it, let alone leave's.
There weren't many tree's in the wasteland as it was. I guess a little shade is better than no shade at all.
Neither had said anything since they left Row.
This maybe because they didn't know what to say. Phoenix was the first to speak.
"So what would you like to eat?" she asked Ark as she toke a look in the bag of food she was carrying.
"What you got?" he asked
"Let's see. I got some fruit, meat, and bread. I also picked up some water." she answered
"I'll have some meat and bread then please" he said
"Cool i wanted some fruit anyway" she replied
As they ate Ark Asked "Where did you burry your parents?"
"At the castle were else" she paused now remember Ark doesn't know she was heir to Row " I mean at the castle 'coz they said they always wanted to live there. What about you?"
"Next to our home." he said looking down
"Are you ok" She asked
"Yeah" he said
�I miss them, do you think we�ll make it to Rin by tomorrow?� she asked.
�We might make it by tonight if we�re lucky� he replied
�Good, because I really don�t want to spend a night in this wasteland, people have fallen asleep in here and never woke up again.� she said
�Don�t be silly, that�s all just story�s� Ark said in a mid-giggle
They finished their food, had something to drink and were well on there way to Rin.
When Phoenix suddenly stopped. �What�s wrong?� Ark asked.
�I can feel the power of a new spell, let me try and get it ok� she said
�Ok just don�t hit me with it. I think I�ll stand back� he said
Once again Phoenix eyes went white, she was covered in a purple smoke, then she let the spell hit the nearest plant.
Her eyes came back to normal.
�What is it?� she asked Ark.
Ark went to have a look, the plant had a black cloud around it.
�I can�t tell, you�ll have to cast it on me� he said
�You sure, well ok, if you say so� said Phoenix
Once again her eyes went white, and the cloud came and she let the spell go. Her eyes came back to normal.
She ran to see Ark.
�Well?� she said
�I�m blind� he replied with an hint of panic in his voice.
�Really, ok how many fingers� she said holding up three fingers.
�One� he said
�Ok I�ll heal you, I hope it works.� she said and with that she held both her hands over Ark�s eyes and a whitish, yellow light shone under her hands and when she toke them away Ark�s eyes had come to normal.
�Don�t do that to me again� he said as the panic faded from his worried voice.
�Ok , no problem� she said in a giggle
�Well off we go again then� said Ark
They walked for a while more. The suns had started to set
. �You know when we were up that tree, I saw the gates so we can�t be all that far away� said Ark.
�Really, I hope so, because I don�t want to be out here much longer� said Phoenix
They walked a little further, to them what seemed like hours turned out to be only a 30 minutes.
Just as they got to the top of a hill that to them went on and on for ever they, they stood the mighty gates to the city of Rin.
The city of Rin was small, the houses were made of wood. They were more like huts than homes.
In the streets were market stalls selling all sorts of things from weapons, amour and clothes. To fruit, meat and vegetables
. On the one side of the street was an Inn. Even though Rin was a small city it was always very busy people came here to buy the weapons there were the best on the planet. If they didn�t buy their weapons here they came here to learn how. Both Ark and Phoenix made their weapons here. At the centre of the two streets at the far back was the castle of Rin. Rin castle was an ivory white color with a gold here and there. It was a very majestic castle. The gates of Rin were heavily guarded. The question now was could Ark and Phoenix get into the city.
�Oh great� said Ark �How are we meant to get past them�
�Wait here� said Phoenix as she went to talk to one of the guards.
Phoenix spoke to one of the guards for what seemed to Ark like ages.
Then the guard looked up and nodded to the other guards in the watch post to open the gate.
Phoenix bowed her head in thanks and then waved to Ark to follow her.
