| Should Muslims go out and participate in Jihaad? Jan 1, 2003 The scholars have explained that Jihaad means to struggle in the arabic language and in shariah, it specifically means to fight for the sake of Allah, so that Allah alone is worshipped. We know that since Allah revealed to the prophet (peace be upon him), he fought in 27 battles and dispatched many armies to fight the ennemies of Islam. After his death, his companions continued to bring the message of Islam to all places and when people attacked them, they fought back. The Khalifahs continued upon the sunnah but gradually deviated until the Crusaders fought and defeated the Ottoman Empire. Some People wonder if the attacks on the muslim lands is a crusade (see article: The modern Crusades). After all, Bush said it himself. Other people wonder: should Muslims help their brothers and sisters where the bombs and bullets are taking their lives everyday; Are the taliban extremists; is jihaad nowadays still obligatory... The reasons why people ( especially the muslims) keep asking these questions are because they have been decieved by the propaganda of the west ( or what they call 'war of prpaganda') where they do something and make you believe something else is going on. People are confused because they lack knowledge of the religion especially in the history of Islam. Hence we are lost in this world when the kaafir leader, George Bush says that there are 2 sides in this war: those with him and those against him. My question is: Can a muslim be on the Kaafirs' side when it is clear that Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that a muslim is the brother of a muslim, he does not forsake him nor betray him. And yet, so many Muslims still side with the US and allies. Some muslims say Jihaad is not obligatory nowadays. Have they ever thought of the number of verses and hadiths they are contradicting!! Others say: The taliban are extremists. These people need to study their own history. The prophet (peace be upon him) took part in many battles and he ordered to chop the heads of about 600 Jews after he captured their fortress. He sent expeditions to terrorize caravans. Would they dare to accuse our prophet of extremism? Or should I accuse them of laxity (and neglecting) in their religion? Striving for material gains rather than for the sake of Allah has made their hearts weak in faith. History is repeating itself again and this time more muslims are awaking from their sleep and realizing that since the battles during the days of the prophet (peace be upon him) their aim remains to destroy Islam. 'War on Terror' is just a cover to trick those who are not aware of reality. They have repeatedly invaded Muslim Lands throughout history in an attempt to keep Muslims under control. Jihaad is obligatory on every Muslim in regions where there are invasions. Since a call has been made by the leader of talibaan to help them, it becomes obligatory on those surrounding these regions. In fact, we know from ahadeeth that if a Muslim dies without having fought in Jihaad or without having had the intention to do so, dies as a hypocrite. And for the hypocrites are the worst punishments in hell. Muhammad |
