Ashton and Ryan are private detectives who work as partners for a security agency and physical contrasts, Ashton being taller and tougher and Ryan shorter, with curly red hair and a clever tongue. Years into the partneship after sharing wine and women and work, the two men have to come to grips with their desire for one another. This growth period in their relationship is complicated by an important assignment from their boss who asks Ashton to pose as a member of a wealthy, noble family with Ryan as his butler in order to solve a case. Secrets from Ashton's past further add to the mystery as the two work out their supressed passion for one another against a socially caste concious setting. There is some nice exploratory, gentle, passionate sex here, the consequence of the two being older and more mature when it finally happens to them. I found it romantic and fun. This is a gentle book with less violence than the others in the group, a pleasant read . |
