What a day ... truely redefines the expression "like a chicken with its head cut-off" but at least I'm all caught-up (don't say it too loud it'll jinx me ) with my work and I'm counting down the minutes until the weekend ...

Yeah, so I'm taking a break at work ... things can be hectic as hell during the evening shift, then things may be totally dead.

"The Portal" has been posted.  And as promised (I hope you're reading this Doc old pal! ) I've gotten busy with a musical project.  Thus far it's a rather jagged sounding acoustic version of Pink Floyd's  song "Mother".

I was fortunate enough that the constant jackhammer serenade from across the street had postponed for long enough for me to record a decent enough vocal track ... I had to cut the ventilation off, and I do believe one of my neighbours was painting his apartment... I was glad to have the vocal track down and hit "save" ...

I was also very glad to be able to re-enable the ventilation, that paint smell was becoming a bit much!

At any rate, that version is a bit more free-style: no drums, bass or keyboards, just my voice and an acoustic guitar, so you know it definitely won't sound like the original ... but like another one of my pals from Cyberjammin' once told me: "it's a cover version, it's not supposed to sound identical".

All that's left for me to do is add a guitar solo and to mix the song ... it's always at the mixing end that my versions go south real fast ... but hey, practice makes perfectr, that also applies to mixing!
