Watch the tumbleweeds a-rollin...man this place is dead.  Once again, just in case I do get a random hit and the visitor does read this blog...

Joey's new flame is taking on a nice, complex personality.  What started out as a genius in metaphysics and other mumbo-jumbo is now a grown up child prodigy with great ressources and advanced technology.  What started out as a "earthling" tribute to Shayera Hol now has a "personality" all her own.

She still has the psychic/metaphysical air to her, but as the story progresses, I am making her more down-to-earth and human.  Though the whole air of mystery and the general belief that she's no more than an Urban Legend is a cool facet of her personality and I'm keeping that.

At this stage of the story, they've acknowledged their mutual attraction, they're very "kissy-huggy" with each other, but no more than this for now ; as their focus is the prep up Joey to become her partner in the fight against crime.

And acting all lovey and overprotective while fighting criminals can really, really backfire.

Okay...and the doubts assail me again: what if no one likes my characters and stories?  What if I invest in publishing a bunch of books and I don't break even, let alone make a profit?

Part of me just wishes to be published as a means of self-expression.  People can like it or hate it, they've paid for that right by buying the book ... but I'd be lying if I said it didn't matter if that labor of love became the object of ridicule...and here I go again feeling sentimental about a bunch of written words...

Acknowledgement means a lot to me.
