Well, it would seem I have a truce of sorts with my illegal parker.  He's using an adjacent stall, and any concerns I may have had he may retaliate by vandalizing my car were thus far unfounded.

I'll have to play that by ear. 

My story "The Portal" is progressing nicely, I have created a race of Space Raiders loosely based on the Orion, Pherenghee and Klingons ... good thing this is fanfic only: I'd owe Majel Barrett Roddenberry mega royalties!

At any rate, several spots will need some fine tuning; the bane of stories featuring too  many characters is that some parts may become blurry (who said what? Who did what?) and some key characters may be left out.

Also (if any of my pals from Cybejammin' ever get to read this) I've been itching to record a few songs, but the constant jack-hammering from the adjacent building (repairing the concrete of the balconies - necessary repairs but very, very noisy).

So recording vocals, which is usually reserved for the day time, is a big no-no right now unless I want a jack-hammer serenade in the background.

And by the time I get home from work (the beloved late after-noon shift) I'm usually too tied to setup and record; by the time I figure out a strong structure I can't keep my eyes open ...

So... I promise that once "The Portal" is completed and posted, I will take a break from story-writing and put some of that day-time energy towards a song or two. 

Since I record all instruments direct (straight to the mixer with no mics involved) the jack-hammering won't be an issue, the only problem will be when time comes to record vocals.
