Entry for August 11, 2006

Hello doodz and doodettes, it's been a while since my last blog entry ...

I've had quite an eventful July: I missed 4 days of work due to a tenacious gastro bug, saw my car broken into (gone JVC stereo & CD's - my insurance has covered car repairs and car rental fees, but I have yet to hear from them regarding the theft of my property from the car) Image, my parents came to visit (and we had a wonderful time) Image, the car began acting up during their visit (starter troubles and AC malfunctioning during the heat wave Image).

The Car's finally out of the shop, now one of my guitars began acting all whonky Image as I tried to record a new song last night... fussed over the piezo bridge for about an hour, I'm not sure what I did (probably a loose wire that was put back into its proper place quite by fluke Image)but now all six strings are working properly (knock on wood!) and a few of my pals from the Cyberjammin forum have expressed an interest in collaborating on that next song -  a cover from the Trevelling Willburys Image.

I haven't heard much from my pal Arti in a while - the last story she posted was back in April ... I hope everything's okay in your life Arti, I really enjoy your stories and you were my inspiration to start writing myself!

My buddy M.J. is vacationing in Montreal ... it was a thrill when he asked me if he could use some of my music as a backing track to his movie "Truant Café" Image can't wait for our next "beer and batman Friday" dude! Image

The love of my life Rina is also on vacation, I can't wait to spend some more quality time with her! Image

Me, other than my many musical projects, the short story turned to mini series I'm currently working on has taken many new forms; the title is now "Summer of Aphrodite", it is stuffed with tongue-in-cheek humour, some of it best appreciated by true DC comic fans, some I hope, funny to all!

Finding a suitable ending is always my biggest challenge; in fact I wouldn't mind re-writing the ending to "Brotherly Love" as (perhaps I'm being too self-critical) the current family dinner ending a la Astérix strikes me as a bit corny at times...

Anyway, "Summer of Aphrodite" is a labour of love (no pun intended) and I can't quite let go of it yet.  Our heroes tangle with the Joker and Harley Quinn, dastardly paparazzi with links to Gotham City's Mob; and with (this occurs much later in the story) the Penguin and his two female Ninja bodyguards ... I figured I'd take that idea from "The Batman" animated series and revamp it a bit, I'm giving dear old Oswald Cobblepot a makeover, stay tuned to find out!Image

That's all for now, Ciao my friends! Image
