Looks like the Tokyopop Manga is an early favourite, which does feature 300 character templates, as well as clip-art, storyboards, the works.  And since I don't require Vista support, sound or animation (this is for my graphic novel after all ;) ) the price is actually under $30.00 ... which is even better! :D

The Marvel version might be closer to my end results, but converting Marvel characters into my own might be a near impossible task.  The Virgin Comics edition is a maybe, but I hesitate choosing that one since it's mostly based on Indian mythology ...nice artwork though!

My mind ain't made up yet...
