Entry for January 10, 2008
Okay, after taking some time off for the Holidays and getting over the flu (the worst is behind me I think) and let's face it with other things on my plate; I've recently restarted the proofing of The Secret Guardians and added a few things to the sequel. I'm no expert in Quantum disturbances; other than my background as a Trekkie and also being a fan of Quantum Leap...I'm venturing in unknown territories, once more adding a 'spiritual flavour' to it...my soul cannot ascend due to a break in fate's design... Or something to that effect...hell I like the way I just phrased it better! ;) So thus far in the sequel we have a sultry female android eager to please her owner, a broken-hearted Secret Guardian thrown back into the fold, secrets revealed, an affair that never should have happened; an epiphany and a lost soul attempting to rectify the broken time line with the help of her broken-hearted lover who believed her to be gone for ever. As much as The Secret Guardians established the characters and described a generic city that lies somewhere between Toronto, New-York and Montreal (purists wil see the similarities), the yet to be named sequel goes a bit more over the top using already established characters in its main lines and a few new characters - I'm coming up with an accident-prone Ninja turned to industrial spy and not very good at it; as well as a new Secret Guardian I'm thinking of naming Druid who picks up where Reverend Justice left off when he decided to leave on a self-imposed retirement. The nucleus is there, now it's how do I make the story stick? 2008-01-11 04:07:39 GMT
