Summer of Aphrodite- episode 1
Mount Olympus – preface
Aphrodite awoke on the first day of summer, feeling rather bored. She arose to get some nectar and ambrosia for her breakfast. She smiled as she recognised her Sister Artemis walking in the garden. She walked up to her.
"Good day my Sister, what brings you to Mount Olympus?" Aphrodite asked.
"I came to pay my respects to Mother and Father, and to say hello to my favourite Sister!" Artemis replied. They hugged.
"Hermaphroditus and Salmacis send their love. I did not think it possible, but Salmacis has become one of my Tribe’s best hunters!" Artemis said, smiling. She looked at Aphrodite.
"Speaking of love, my good friend J’onn tells me our friends at the Justice League have quite an assortment of couples, very much in love!" Artemis said.
"I cannot take all of the credit," Aphrodite said with a smile, my other sons, Cupid and Eros have also helped!"
They walked through the gardens of Mount Olympus.
"Something is bothering you my Sister, what is it?" Artemis asked.
"I grow bored my Sister; it would seem that in spite of our best efforts, Ares is the one the mortals pay the most attention to." Aphrodite said, looking sad.
"Then call upon Cupid and Eros, cast a bit of your special kind of magic on the world of mortals!" Artemis said, with a playful smile on her face. "There is nothing wrong with reminding them that love is the greatest force of all!"
Aphrodite looked at her sister and smiled.
"Would you care to assist us casting that spell then? The more the merrier!" Aphrodite said.
"Lead the way my Sister!" Artemis replied.
Gotham Knights 1
"Gotham Knights, report?" Batman’s voice crackled in the communicators.
"All channels open, uplinks to Gotham City PD and to Watchtower 1 fully functional should you require backup." Oracle said.
"In position and ready for triangulation." Robin said.
"Ditto here Batman, awaiting instructions." Batgirl said.
"Also in position Batman, say the word!" Reverend Justice replied.
"Keep your eyes open and report as soon as the target has been located. He is highly unstable and dangerous, do not, I repeat, do not attempt to apprehend on your own. The last thing we need is to scramble for Smilex antidote. If you locate the clown, report and await backup." Batman said.
"Police scans indicate the Joker was last seen roaming about his former flame Harley Quinn’s apartment building. No reports of Harley herself making an appearance though." Oracle said.
"Still respecting her Parole, or trying to," Batman said, "All right team, triangulate and keep a sharp eye out. Do not engage in heroics, unless you are in a position of self-defence. Otherwise, report and await backup." Batman said.
The team began triangulation, moving carefully from rooftop to rooftop in pursuit of the escaped Joker.
"Batgirl here, right near Harley Quinn’s building – I see her from window watching TV; proceeding to next building." Batgirl said.
"That confirms Oracle’s reports," Batman said, "No sign of our clown from my end either. Robin, RJ? Any luck?"
"Nothing from my end either, infra-red scans and motion detector sweeps are coming out blank. I’m also proceeding to the next building." Robin said.
"All clear at street level, ditto with the rooftops…hold up…wait a minute there…I’m letting the progressive vision adjust … I think I’ve detected movement on the Gotham Opera House’s rooftop across the street from here." Reverend Justice said.
"Try the zoom setting RJ." Batman said.
"This thing has a zoom?" Reverend Justice said.
"The tiny knob on the side of your left goggle is your zoom control, same idea as the knob on the side of your right goggle which activates the micro cam." Batman said.
"Okay, got it! Zooming in now …target acquired! Joker’s trying to hide behind the gargoyles on the west side of the roof. He’s turning my way, HOLY!" Reverend Justice exclaimed.
"RJ, what’s wrong?" Batman asked.
"For a second there it looked like he was looking right at me, what a stare!" Reverend Justice said, trying to repress a shiver.
"Keep tabs on him Rev, we’ll be right there." Batman said.
"Copy that Batman, he’s not budging, he seems to be talking to himself…looking my way again… I swear it’s as if he can see me from across the street, talking into his lapel? What an odd...UNNNGH!"
Reverend Justice could not finish his sentence. An unseen attacker had wrapped a rope around his throat from behind, benefiting from a height advantage, standing on an air vent.
"RJ, what’s wrong? Reverend do you copy? Gotham Knights hurry up to RJ’s location, he’s not responding, he might be in trouble!" Batman said.
"I’m almost there!" Robin said.
"I’m almost there too!" Batgirl said.
More out of reflex than rational thought, Reverend Justice reached behind his neck grabbing onto the rope and dropped to the ground, sending his attacker flying over his head and hitting the rooftop rather hard. Massaging his throat, he looked at his attacker with an expression of disbelief. "Harley Quinn? Didn’t Batgirl say she was at home watching TV?" He thought.
Angry, he armed his right stunner and fired a bolt at Harley Quinn, hitting her in the hip, temporarily paralysing her legs.
"Ow!" She yelled, "You don’t play fair!"
"Oh but you do?" He growled.
"Foul! I call a foul! You just broke the first rule of hero-ship!" The Joker leaped from the Opera house’s rooftop and landed next to Reverend Justice, using a trick rocket. "Where does he get those gadgets anyway?" The Reverend wondered.
"Bad boys who beat up on defenceless girls get punished!" The Joker said, smiling maniacally, a stream of acid coming out of his buttoner. Reverend Justice ducked and rolled out of the way, the acid hitting the roof.
Thankfully, Batman had thoroughly briefed the entire team on Joker’s arsenal. Reverend Justice stood up, and taking off his hat, tossed it at the Joker.
"Catch laughing boy!" he said.
Joker caught the hat, a puzzled look on his face, Reverend Justice following up with a punch in the face. Joker fell flat on his back, dropping the Reverend’s hat. Reverend Justice put his hat back on, and then grabbed the Joker by the ankles, dragging him towards the ledge.
"What? What are you doing? Heroes aren’t supposed to act this way! I thought you preached to the lost souls and gave them a chance for reform!" The Joker stammered, as Reverend Justice scooped him off the rooftop, making as if he was about to throw him off.
"This Hero’s behaviour changes when his attacker tries to burn his face off with acid, and when his attacker’s bimbo tries to strangle him to death! And I only preach to those souls who can be saved, you’re too far beyond redemption!" Reverend Justice growled.
"B-but you can’t! Batsy would never do this!" The Joker blurted out.
"Do I look like Batman?" Reverend Justice said, raising his voice.
"Rev, don’t!" Robin had joined them on the roof.
"Why not little brother, why shouldn’t I? Wouldn’t I be doing the world a favour by tossing this piece of trash off the roof?" Reverend Justice said.
Batgirl made it to the rooftop next. "Big brother put him down!" She yelled, and then noticed Harley Quinn trying to crawl away. "You? I just saw you in your apartment watching TV!" Batgirl said.
"Ever met my nerdy twin sister?" Harley said; with a sarcastic smile on her face.
Batgirl punched her on the side of the head, clenching her teeth. "That’s for trying to strangle big brother!" She said, and then took out a pair of Bat-cuffs.
"Rev, please, killing him won’t solve anything!" Robin said, trying to talk the Reverend down.
"It might make me feel a whole lot better brother Robin, and Sister Batgirl." The Reverend said. Robin and Batgirl looked on with worry.
"Trust me RJ, it won’t." Batman said, finally arriving on the rooftop.
"Give me one reason brother Batman, one good reason not to do the world a favour by throwing him off and making a sidewalk pancake out of him!" Reverend Justice said, looking genuinely furious.
The Joker was whimpering, not daring to move.
"Is he worth spending the rest of your life in prison? This is no longer self-defence Reverend. It is a vendetta. A Judge may rule in your favour but you don’t need a criminal record to follow you around." Batman said. "Besides, you might hit a pedestrian." He added, repressing a grin.
"You make one hell of a point there, Brother Batman." Reverend Justice said, throwing the Joker back onto the rooftop.
The Joker crawled to Batman, hiding behind him. "Help me Batsy, help me! He’s crazy I tell you, crazier than me! He’s the one who belongs in Arkham! That nut job makes me look normal!"
"Oh shut up clown!" Batman said, cuffing him.
"He’s mental I tell you! Men-tal!" the Joker said.
"Don’t you get it yet Joker? It’s called bad cop worse cop!" Reverend Justice said, "And I’m as worse as they come!"
He then looked at Harley Quinn. "And look at you. You nearly committed murder tonight. Batman believed you could be rehabilitated, vouched for you with the Parole board and this is how you repay him?" Reverend Justice shook his head. "I guess you are also too far beyond redemption."
Harley Quinn looked down, a genuine expression of remorse on her face. "What can I say? Jokey’s my man, I love him. I can never turn him down when he needs me. He wanted me to follow him to cover his retreat. He spotted you on this rooftop because I told him you were on his trail via radio."
"Even the criminals have communicators – Joker wasn’t talking to himself, he was talking to her." Reverend Justice thought.
"Then he told me to eliminate the one on his tail, asked me to improvise. It was just dumb luck it happened to be you." She said, looking up at Reverend Justice. "I must say you have a strong thick neck, and you think fast - you threw me overhead before I knew what was happening." She tried to smile.
The police showed up, dispatched by Oracle. They booked the Joker and Harley Quinn, Joker still ranting in a high-pitched voice "Yes! Take me back to the Asylum where it’s safe! That Reverend is crazy, he’s mental I tell you! Men-tal!"
After they had gone, Reverend Justice looked gravely at his teammates. "I know, I know, I let my temper get the better of me. I could joke and say that at least I put the fear of God in him, but I should have known better. I guess that puts me on probation with the Justice League?"
Batman looked at him and said, "Don’t crucify yourself; we all reach a point where we have to deal with our own anger. With the Joker, we all reach that point rather fast. I wanted him dead myself after Barbara was paralysed and Jason was killed."
Batman paused, looking rather grim at those memories. He looked up and clapped Reverend Justice on the shoulder with a smile.
"When the time came to decide whether you would submit to your anger and put an end to the Joker’s misery, or to stay in control of yourself and stand for justice, you chose to stay in control. You’ve done well. And yes, you did put the fear of God in him; I don’t think he’ll try an escape for a while now!" Batman said.
"I feel bad too," Batgirl said. "Had Harley not fooled me you wouldn’t have bruise on neck."
"I’ll live Cass," Reverend Justice said, "besides; she fooled all of us, who knew Harley had a twin sister?"
"That’s the thing, she doesn’t!" Batgirl said looking frustrated.
"I can verify that," Oracle chimed in through the communicators, "No records of any known siblings."
"This calls for a closer look!" Robin said. Batman, Batgirl and the Reverend nodded in agreement.
They proceeded back to Harley Quinn’s apartment. From the top of the same building Batgirl had already surveyed, they looked.
"See?" Batgirl said, "Still there, watching TV, eating popcorn!"
Batman observed for a while and smiled. "Notice anything?" he asked.
"I have to admit I’m stumped," Reverend Justice said.
"Me too." Robin said.
"Same movements every 15 seconds: first she scratches her nose, then she takes a sip of beer, then she takes a handful of popcorn, nibbles a bit... then scratches her nose again…" Batman said.
"Then another sip of beer," Batgirl said, smiling.
"Then another handful of popcorn," Reverend Justice said, also catching on.
"Then she nibbles again and starts all over!" Robin said, also smiling.
"I believe my friends that we have just located the holographic video camera and holographic projector that went missing from Wayne Enterprises project development." Batman said.
"Let me guess, another unmarketable prototype due to production costs that will end up in the Bat-Cave?" Reverend Justice asked with a grin.
"You could say that." Batman said with a smirk. "We might as well go through official channels on this one. Batman calling Gotham P.D., I would like to report we have located some property stolen from Wayne Enterprises."
He then turned to his Knights and smiled.
"I think we can call it a night, that includes you too Oracle." Batman said.
"Just a few more sweeps and I will, Bruce." Oracle said.
"That wasn’t a request Barb." Batman said, dryly. "You haven’t seen your father in much too long, let alone phoned him. Jim’s a good man Barbara, and he worries about you. Just pick up the phone and call him, he’ll feel better."
After a short pause, Oracle replied "I know Bruce, you’re right. I’ve become more and more of a darned recluse since the wheelchair, my Dad deserves better."
Batgirl chimed in: "Then stop talking about it you dummy, call him!"
Batman, Robin and Reverend Justice repressed a chuckle.
"Okay, okay, I will, Oracle out!" Oracle said, unable to hide an expression of mixed amusement and annoyance.
Still chuckling, Batman looked at his team with pride.
"Thanks to you all I can still make it on time for my Theatre date with Diana. A quick shower, slip on my tuxedo and I can keep my date with her. Thanks!" Batman said.
"That is of course unless she has an emergency of her own…" Robin said with a smirk.
"Bite your tongue!" Batman said, giving Robin an amused smirk. "We received no emergency updates from the Watchtower; I do believe the date is on. Get some rest my friends! Oh Joey, are you packed up?"
"Yes Bruce I am. Thanks again: that Caribbean Cruise for Shayera and me is a wonderful gift, but …" Reverend Justice said.
"But nothing," Batman said, "I’ve been working you too hard: you’ve been spreading yourself thin between the Justice League, the Gotham Knights patrols and MCW tapings. Fortunately, you have an understanding girlfriend who still has a chance to spend some time with you during business hours, but you both deserve some quality time together. Stop worrying; we’ll mind the fort without the two of you for a few weeks."
Reverend Justice smiled at his friend and employer, and they shook hands.
"The new titanium reinforced and water-proof Molecular Belt for Shayera is a nice touch Bruce. She can now wear it in combat without worrying it would be damaged…" Reverend Justice said.
"The new casing is virtually indestructible," Batman said, with a satisfied smile.
"And the new design looks close enough to body jewellery – indestructible body jewellery- that she can come sunbathing with me, swimming … and no-one would be the wiser! Thanks!" Reverend Justice said.
"Have fun Bro!" Robin said, clapping Reverend Justice on the shoulder.
"Yes big brother, bring me back souvenir?" Batgirl said, kissing him on the cheek.
"I’ll see if I can’t find something you like Cass!" Reverend Justice said, smiling. "I’ll see you all in 2 weeks!"
The Reverend activated his n’th metal belt and jumped off the roof, calling his Chariot to him from remote control. "Better not to keep Shayera waiting any longer." He thought.
"And I want you two to get some rest." Batman said to Robin and Batgirl. "Go on a date, or something; have some fun."
Robin and Batgirl looked at each other and blushed a little at the date comment.
"Speaking of which… Batman to Wayne Manor, Alfred do you copy?" Batman said.
Alfred’s voice came through the communicators "Indeed I do Sir."
"Make sure my Tuxedo is ready, I’m not missing my theatre date with Diana tonight. I should be home in 10-15 minutes." Batman said.
"That is wonderful news Master Bruce! Miss Diana is a bit early, I shall advise her you are on your way." Alfred said.
"Thank you Alfred, Batman out." Batman said.
"See you two later." Batman said to Robin and Batgirl.
They looked at each other, a blush still on their faces. Batgirl gave Robin a sheepish smile.
"Well, it’s his idea… want to?" She said, still smiling.
It had been a while since Tim Drake had broken up with his ex. School, Young Justice and the Gotham Knights had kept his mind off dating, but…yes he did find Cassandra Cain – Batgirl – cute. In fact, he had had a bit of a crush on her for a while now, but did not dare say a word.
"I’d love to Cass!" Robin said." Movies?"
"Yeah!" She said, holding onto his arm, smiling.
"She has a beautiful smile". Robin thought, "Why haven’t I noticed it before?" They walked away together.
"I guess we should go home and change; we’d attract attention dressed like this." Robin said.
"Good idea Tim." She said, giggling at the thought of the "oh’s" and "ah’s" Batgirl and Robin would cause if they were to be seen on a date together.
"Pick you up in half an hour then Cass?" Robin said.
She smiled and kissed him on the cheek. "Don’t keep me waiting!" She said.
She repressed a giggle as Robin blushed. "You look too cute when you act all shy Timmy Drake!" She thought, reading his body language like an open book.
They both called their respective rides – the Bat-Cycle and the Redbird – via remote control and both went home to change. "Good thing I have a ride of my own other than the Redbird, I hope Cassandra doesn’t mind a motorcycle ride to the movies!" Tim thought with excitement.
Better halves
Back at Joseph Lucas’s apartment, Shayera was livid.
"I’ll kill that buffoon bimbo!" She hissed.
"I’m fine Shy, plenty of time for the bruise to heal, plenty of time—uninterrupted time- to spend with you my Angel!" Joey said, smiling, putting his arms around her.
"I know preacher, I know." She kissed him. "The fact that Harley nearly ruined our quality time together just drives me crazy." She looked in his eyes, an uncharacteristic loving expression on her face. "I know you can defend yourself, but knowing that lunatic woman tried to kill you…makes me feel all overprotective." She said, her eyes never leaving his.
"Now you know the way I feel when you face some overpowered alien monster, Angel!" he said, still holding her. They kissed again.
At the Theatre, in their private box, Bruce repressed a giggle as Diana had fallen asleep on his shoulder. At the intermission, he gently nudged her: "Wake-y, wake-y Princess!" he said in a low voice.
"Huh? What … the play… oh my! Was I asleep? Why didn’t you wake me up?" She said, looking embarrassed.
"I thought you were just snuggling up with me at first, so I just put my arm around you. Then I heard the deep breathing and I realized you had nodded off." He smiled.
In spite of being in a private box, Bruce did not want to take the chance of being overheard, so he whispered, "I know metas can go without sleep for long periods of time, but they do need sleep eventually. You’ve been spending a lot of time between the Embassy and the League. You haven’t slept over at the Manor in weeks." Bruce said.
She blushed again, and whispered back "Yes, I have spent lots of time at the Embassy, making sure the i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed. Deanna’s appointment as the new Ambassador to Themiyscira is imminent. She’s ready; it’s the whole paperwork that takes time."
She gave Bruce a satisfied smile, "Good thing we did manage to spend time at your residence on the Riviera a few weeks back. I was beginning to miss you!" Diana whispered, leaning towards him, and kissed him.
"This is why I wanted to be sure we didn’t miss this date Princess. Between Official business and Justice League business, quality time is scarce. I don’t want to miss a minute of it!" He whispered to her.
"You’re sweet Bruce!" Diana said a bit louder, smiling. They kissed again.
"How about we blow off part 2, have some dinner and catch some z’s at my place? I’ll be happy to spend time with you even if you’re sleeping in my arms!" He said in a low voice that made her shiver.
"Well, I did sleep through most of part 1 …you won’t be mad at me if we cut the Theatre short?" She asked him, a sheepish expression on her face.
"It was my idea Princess!" He said, smiling. "Let’s get our things from Coat Check and I’ll call Alfred." They got up and left.
At the movie Theatre, to on lookers Tim and Cassandra were just another pair of teens on their first date. They looked excited and a bit nervous.
She could tell from Tim’s body language that he did not dare hold her hand or put his arm around her because he feared she might overreact and pummel him pretty severely.
She smiled, gently took his wrist and put his arm around her waist. She saw the happy expression on his face and gave him a gentle kiss on the lips.
"I won’t bite Timmy. I like you a lot…just don’t move too fast okay?" She said, smiling at him.
"Okay," He said, returning her smile. "You’ll have to forgive me Cass, I’m a bit out of practice with dating, and pretty girls make me act all goofy!"
She smiled with a blush at that compliment. She whispered at him "You’re doing fine!" and kissed him again.
At the restaurant, Bruce and Diana enjoyed their meal.
"You’re right Bruce; their vegetarian cuisine is fabulous … if I could just stop yawning! I didn’t realize how tired I was!" She said.
"Care for a moonlight stroll in the Wayne Manor gardens before we turn in?" He asked. "Fresh air might do you good."
"I’d simply love it!" She said, grabbing him by the shirt and leaning towards him, giving him a passionate kiss across the table.
With a small gasp, he straightened his shirt, giving her a surprised look. She had not been this spontaneous with him since they went on mission for Aphrodite. She looked at him, tired but smiling, that pretty face that could always melt his heart.
"Wow, I should really take you out more! It really brings out the passion in you!" He turned looking for the Maitre D and said "Cheque please!"
Diana laughed heartily, reaching for Bruce’s hand. No, life was not prefect, and in their line of work, it could get quite ugly. Their relationship made it all liveable, pleasant even.
"I love you tough guy!" She said.
"I love you too Princess!" he whispered at her leaning towards her across the table and kissed her again.
Joey and Shayera had boarded the Cruise ship. Justice League connections had allowed them to transport their luggage from his apartment straight to their cabin, and to avoid any further delays they transported themselves from Joey’s Gotham City to a discreet location at the Port in the Florida Keys.
Now in their cabin, they sat on their bed, revelling in the first few moments of relaxation they had been able to enjoy in months.
"I can’t believe it!" He said.
"What’s that Joey?" She replied.
"We’re actually on vacation…well for a period longer than 5 days anyway! I’ve been looking forward to this Angel!" Joey said, turning to face her, putting his arms around her, kissing her.
Shayera smiled, looking into his eyes. "Same here Joey!" In a low voice, she added, "Be careful not to call me Angel or ‘Shy’ when we’re in public, from this point on, you must remember to call me ‘Sheryl’!"
"Yes Shayera…I mean Angel…I mean Sheryl!" He said with a grin.
Smiling, she squeezed his cheeks to pucker him up with one hand, and kissed him again, more passionately.
Joey had stopped using his comical line "Easy on the squeeze!" as Shayera had learned to use a more gentle touch.
"I’m going to enjoy this vacation!" He said.
"Same here preacher: you, me, no interruptions for 2 weeks…I love those odds!" She replied, pushing him on his back, moving on top of him, smiling seductively.
They made love.
At the movies, Tim and Cassandra were enjoying the flick. Seeing how Tim was still reluctant to hold her for fear she would beat him up; Cassandra had once again taken the lead, leaning on him, putting his arm around her shoulders. The happy expression on his face when she did was not lost to her.
"You’re much too cute Timmy Drake!" She thought, giving him a furtive sideways glance, smiling. "If you’d rather have me make the moves I will!" She gently moved his face towards her and kissed him again. He smiled and blushed.
Yes, she liked him a lot. Seeing the contrast between the self-assured Robin and the shy and somewhat awkward Tim Drake only reinforced this.
She especially enjoyed how he allowed her to move at her own pace and minded his manners.
"Only first date," She thought dreamily, grammar erratic from emotion, "Can’t jump to conclusions but…I could think worse things to happen than fall in love with Timmy!"
She closed her eyes for a few seconds, snuggling up closer to him, ignoring the movie, revelling in the moment, with an angelic smile on her face.
Bruce and Diana were now strolling in the Gardens behind Wayne Manor. Alfred had offered to have the path lights illuminated, but Bruce had asked he keep them off: it was a beautiful moonlit night with very few clouds.
They walked, Diana holding onto his arm. "Absolutely beautiful Bruce, this was a wonderful idea!" She said.
The fragrance from the lilac trees and rose bushes perfumed the late evening breeze. "Yes, one of my better ideas I must admit!" He said, as she snuggled closer to him. They kissed in the moonlight.
"Poor Alfred works much too hard." She said, looking in his eyes, "All of the Wayne Manor tasks, cleaning up after you, maintaining the grounds, minding the gardens!"
Bruce chuckled.
"We do have a team of gardeners that comes here a few times a week to maintain the grounds and gardens, and we have a few maids who come help him out once a week with the housework. Agreed, security is heightened on those days to make sure they don’t stumble upon the entrance to the Bat-Cave." He said.
She smiled. "I can understand why you were so excited about the prototype android J’onn designed for you. It was successful at being your personal pilot and at being Alfred’s assistant during our trip to the Riviera." She said.
"As soon as J’onn has done his final fine tunings to the android, Alfred will have permanent help in Wayne Manor, with no security risks." He said, as she tried to stifle a yawn.
"Shall we turn in then Princess?" He asked, smiling sweetly at her.
"Well…I’m tired, but not that tired!" She said with a seductive smile, undoing his bow tie.
"You mean …," He said, returning her smile, eyebrows raised.
"Hmm, hmm!" She said, nodding; now undoing his collar button.
"Then I guess we should walk b…" He could not finish. She had wrapped her arms around him and they flew to his bedroom, entering from the small balcony’s door.
They laughed. "No matter how many times we’ve done this before, it always startles me!" He said. "Good thing I have the keys to the bedroom’s balcony door!"
They entered the bedroom. In spite of how tired Diana had been feeling she was showing no signs of it, helping Bruce out of his Tuxedo. They made their way to the bed, and made love passionately.
Lying in bed, she looked at him. Once more, she could see that expression on his face, free of anxiety, anger or worry. Once more, she could not repress thinking, "Mighty Aphrodite I’m good!" with a giddy Schoolgirl expression illuminating her face.
She snuggled up to him, laying her head on his chest.
"My, you’re quite amorous tonight Princess!" He said with a grin.
"Shh! When Joey was in the coma, Shayera slept with him in the Infirmary like this. She told me that hearing his heartbeat, hearing his breathing…she found it…quite…" She said, falling asleep in Bruce’s arms.
He kissed her on the top of her head, whispering, "Sleep well my love!"
A tiny cat smile formed on her lips.
