Revenwyn's History Page

History: Revenwyn was born to Revenhelm, the brother of Éomund, the father of Éomer and Éowyn, and to Ioren of the Dunedain, a healeress. Her four brothers were  Riders of the Mark, and Revenwyn was trained in blade and bow as well by her brothers, but only for personal use.

One day when she was home she went into town and there she met Dorian, a ranger, who bought two of her loaves of bread and ate them both right there!  He had actually been told that there was a young woman in the area who was skilled in blade and bow.  The bonus was that the woman's mother was of the Dunedain.

Dorian stayed around the area for almost that entire year. A relationship developed between him and Revenwyn, and he furthered her training.  A year later, after orcs attacked the town, Revenwyn and Dorian fought them.  After the battle, he asked her to marry him. She accepted. In secret, he brought her to meet his parents. They approved the relationship, and gave Dorian their blessing.  Dorian's parents said that they must wait another three years because most of the Dunedain didn't marry until they were fifty, and Dorian was not even half that age.

During this time, her father pledged her to Haraldon, who claimed to be a man of Gondor. Revenwyn ran away with her brothers and joined the éored. There she stayed hidden for three years, and was in the Battle of Pelennor Fields. There, as she was tending one of the wounded (it was Haraldon but she didn't remember what he looked like) he recognized her to be a woman, and knew it was Revenwyn.  They were wed immediately, against her will.  She did not love the man, and the man did not love her.  The man beat her and verbally abused her.  She would not abuse him back.  She often told Dorian of how her husband mistreated her.  He seethed with anger towards Haraldon.

Because of this, Revenwyn left for the eored again, unknowingly pregnant. But later, she knew, and also she knew she couldn't hide it for long now. There were many battles with orcs still, and Revenwyn fell to the ground wounded.  Dorian happened to be passing that way and joined the battle, but he saw Revenwyn on the ground and stopped to care for her.  He also could tell that she was pregnant.

She left the éored, and hid in Dorian's parent's home near Minas Tirith until she had her baby, a boy,  whom she named Lóravarnion. Haraldon somehow got wind of her whereabouts, but he didn't seem to care.  He wasn't really a man of Gondor, he was one of the maiar who had fallen with Morgoth. So he just left her.  This was the best thing that had happened to Revenwyn since her marriage.  Now she was rid of him.  Or so she thought.

Dorian came for her, and they were semi-secretly wed.  His parents were there, but no one else.  None of Revenwyn's family was there, and only her brothers knew about the new marriage, and they had been sworn to secrecy by Revenwyn.  They loved their sister, and wanted the best for her, so they kept quiet.

Revenwyn's parents knew that Haraldon had divorced Revenwyn, and divorce was allowable, but extremely rare, and only under the worst circumstances, and the family hushed it up, although they did take their new grandson into their care.

Dorian took Revenwyn with him when he roamed the countryside, but they took great caution to split up when they reached Rohan.  He had a gold and sapphire ring that he had given her, but she never wore it except when she was around his family.  Indeed, none of the companies that they ever traveled with knew about the marriage.

A year into their marriage, Dorian was going on a new quest, of an extremely dangerous sort, so he told Revenwyn that this time, she must remain in Minas Tirith. She was pregnant again, and it looked like she would have twins.  She begged to go, and Dorian finally consented.

She did indeed have twins, born in Rivendell; a boy, whom they named Roquen Revenhelm Ohtamacil, and a girl, Miranda Lossefalme.  Soon after, Dorian went on another dangerous quest.  Revenwyn raised the twins until they were six years old, and left them in the care of their paternal grandparents.

Suddenly, Revenwyn was called by King Elessar to search for the Lost Palantiri. She traveled to Bree, where Dorian joined her as well.  Soon a small company was formed, and it grew as the quest lengthened.

The quest was rather long, and it encompassed the death of Revenwyn's husband, Dorian.  She grieved for a time, yet discovered she'd also fallen in love nearly immediately with Shadow, one of the newer members of the company.  Her love for Shadow deepened, and in time she discovered his true name and his history. Through time and trial, Shadow grew to love her as well, and  some time after the quest was finished, he married her.
