After Glow

The fruit was dubbed forbidden

But, I ate it regardless

That poetry was terrible

Still, I read it anyway

The sun is looking green and the sky colored red

It's alright with me, I want it that way

So, the tree was dying

But, I watered it still

The leaves kept on falling

Yet I danced in their will

The moon is going blue and the grass turning gray

It's alright with me, I like it that way

---

Every day is getting shorter, it seems to me

But, I'm living in the moment

Like I live in my dreams

While everyone keeps on having their say

I manage to remain untouched, unswayed

Didn't live like anyone else did

No, seize the day

---

My nights are shining brighter while the days are growing dark

But, I soak up all the moonlight

And sleep through all the talk

The kids are seeming older and the older aging young

Paradox!

The world is backwards, don't you turn it around

My heart is in my eye and my eye's in my hand

The vision's through the soul

But, my soul's on the lamb

Still---you fly and I soar, yet we both drift away

And I wouldn't want it any other way
