The belt, shield, breastplate, shoes, and helmet are all defensive pieces of armor given to protect us from the weapons of the enemy. So what are the weapons He is talking about? The Sword of the Spirit is clearly identified as the Word of God, our weapon against the enemy. But that is only one weapon...in II Corinthians 10:3 it reads, "weapons" as in plural. The next verse tells what our other main weapon is: "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perserverence and supplication for the saints." We must pray in the Spirit! Let me repeat that so there is no misunderstanding. WE MUST PRAY IN THE SPIRIT! One more time... WE MUST PRAY IN THE SPIRIT! Three times repeating something in the New Testament is a covenant. Jesus arose on the third day, because He covenanted with us that we can and will rise from death too. In my Spirit, I just made a commitment to pray for you in the Spirit daily. See what else He has given us in the next lesson. God bless you, Dorothy |
