It's springtime again and new life shows forth its face, as tiny blades push up through the earth to fulfill their destiny. Seeds, watered by moisture from the skies, break open and give forth the life hidden within them, as if by command. The great God has spoken and so it is. Seedtime and harvest remain even unto 6,000 years from Adam. The Word of His mouth has not altered, it is still producing what He said it would.
In the fullness of time, Jesus came to the earth, just as promised by God. He came, He said, "...that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10 KJV. Just as the Word of God brings forth life in the natural realm year by year by year by year, so the Word of God, Jesus, brings to us Life in the spirit. Every year there are those who receive Him and the Life He comes to bring, as they awaken to His desire for them, and respond to His divine wooing of them. He washes the Seed of His Life within them, and it begins to open and grow. He desires to water it with the water of Life, the living water Who is the Holy Spirit, according to John 7:38,39. This prefaces His Word that so speaks; "If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. He that believes on Me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." Believing on Jesus, not just mental assent to His existence or what He has done for mankind, but a heart giving itself over to Him, receiving Him, coming alive by Him, living only for Him now, is prepared by Him to receive His Holy Spirit. The Word explains in all four gospels that Jesus is the One Who baptizes in (or with) the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:5 reiterates this as well, spoken by Jesus Himself to His followers. Pentecost saw this come to pass for those believers; God sent the third Person of the Godhead to indwell them, empower them, help them, reveal Jesus to them, comfort them guide them into all truth, and show them things to come. (See John 16) He will do the same for you, for He will abide with us forever. All we have to is ask. (See Lk. 11:13) He is here with us, we have only to receive Him, and be watered and watered and watered, so we'll bear much fruit, glorifying our Father as Jesus said, as He helps keep us abiding in the Lord Jesus. His life will appear in our lives and be evident to all. They may come and eat of His fruit that appears in our tree and find the Life there. He is awesome. His Word does not change. What He said then, is the same now. He changes not. May the Life of God be yours this spring, and may His water of life water you abundantly in the days to come, giving glory to the God Who created you for Himself. He loves you so. |
