| Hello, My name is Ann Thompson. I (at this time) am 37 years old. I have quite the history already, and look forward to adding more. I have AIDS, was infected in 1980. I was raped, I was 12 years old. He was an IV drug user from NY. I found out when I enlisted into the Air Force. I was all set to leave when I was called back into the testing facility. The doctor came into the room, and said "You have six months to a year to live - you have AIDS!" Well, I was screwed up for a long while, waiting to die and all... Many years later,I went to college and recieved my AS in Radiology Technology. I started my career in Pittsbugh, PA. In 2001 I moved back home to Gardner, MA. In 2005 I moved to heaven in Ava, MO. It is amazing how happiness can transform one. Today I don't need to write negatively about my past. Life here on the farm is simple yet fulfilling. I can't imagine life anywhere else! It turns out that life doesn't need to be filled with conficts or trouble to make a person feel alive. It can be very simple and still be rewarding. With Doug at my side, anything is possible. It took a loving caring man to show me how life should be. Before Doug came into my life, I thought I was doomed to live a life of strife! Not today. I have come to realize that I was meant to live a life of peace and happiness. it took awhile to find it, but now that I have, I will fight to keep it if I need to! We are happy. We have five dogs and three cats (our kids). We live a simple life in (very)rural Missouri. We are surounded by beautiful fields and forest. At night you can see every star and listen to the Whipper Wils and Owls. We can watch wild turkeys, rabbits (usually running from the dogs), quail, deer and the not so wild cows in the pasture next door. Humming Birds buzz around everywhere. There is a spectacular show of wild life everyday, we have come to apprieciate! Then there is the quietness. Even though there are hundreds of sounds from the wild life that we are surounded by, it is calming and quiet. Peaceful. Just close your eyes and listen to it. You can actually hear quietness! It is a joyful sound! It is amazing how happiness can affect a person. I love it! |
