The 1961-62 Falcons were a .500 team, but they were led by one of the great all-time scorers in school history. Dickie Weller, also known as "Doc", averaged over 20 points per game and on December 1, 1961 he rang up a masterful 44 points against Johnson High of Rome. His 44 point performance established a school record at the time which was later broken in 1971. Doc Weller is one of only four Berry players to ever break the 40 point barrier in a single game. |
