This is an 11" by 14" pointillism drawing completed for my Nature Drawing class at Hocking College. I chose to use the pointillism technique because it shows the powdery, pigmented texture of the wings.

I learned that my cousin Dee Dee had a terminal case of spinal cancer, so I rushed to complete another original pointillism drawing especially for her, but ended up sending a print of this one instead (pointillism drawings can take a LONG time to finish).
