'CHOSEN FEW' - 7" single (1994)

Suprisingly mid-paced for a 'New Wave of New Wave' single, 'Chosen Few' carries a typically arrogant lyric, detailing the fact that certain people intuitively know they are destined for some degree of fame. Musically influenced by (possibly) a 'White Album' era Beatles, Marc Bolan and Roxy Music, the single shows a great potential for songwriting that wasn't always apparent in other 'NWONW' bands, and is a definite grower as the cocky charm of the track slowly filters through.

B-side 'Tonight Is Killing Me' is more immediate, and is worth shelling out for if you want a quick fix of powerpop and need something new rather than spinning your old Jam singles.  You get the feeling that this track would have been a live favourite, with adrenaline fuelled guitars and a vocal delivery that sounds both effortless and heartfelt. If you liked These Animal Men and remember your first listen to 'Speeed King' you will fall in love with this track, guaranteed.
